  • Patent number: 6234484
Abstract: The novel card game employs a deck of cards with two or more suits and each suit having cards consecutively numbered starting from zero. The players select how many suits they will hold in, their hand and the number of cards from each suit. The cards are then dealt and each player, in order, places a card face up in the middle between the players. Each consecutive player then places a higher numbered card in the middle of the table until one player has no cards or until no cards can be played by any of the players. A winner is then declared based on the player who has no cards or the player with the lowest total value of face cards in his hand.

  • Patent number: 6231040
Abstract: A sucker adjustment device including a moving lever having a cam surface adjacent its far end. An axis is located adjacent the near end and a first cam follower is mounted intermediate the ends. The first cam follower bears against an actuating cam which causes the former to move between an extended position, wherein the sucker cup attached thereto contacts the bottom newspaper of a stack, and a retracted position, wherein the sucker cup is out of the path of the lowest newspaper. There is an actuating lever pivotally mounted about the axis and carrying an arm between its distal end and the axis. There is a second cam follower on the arm at a point remote from the actuating lever and bearing against the cam surface. A pivot adjacent the rotating end of the sucker bar spaced apart from the sucker cup permits the sucker bar to move between its extended and retracted positions.

  • Patent number: 6228425
Abstract: A cable reel includes a sound-absorbing material which can effectively attenuate both sliding noise and vibration noise and can be produced inexpensively. The cable reel comprises a stationary member assembly and a movable member assembly rotatably mounted on the stationary member assembly. The stationary and movable member assemblies define a cable containing chamber having an annular configuration and upper and lower bearing surfaces. The cable containing chamber accommodates a flat cable in a coiled manner between the upper and lower bearing surfaces. Opposite ends of the flat cable are led out from the stationary and movable member assemblies through electrical means. The sound-absorbing material is made of a foam material and includes at least three straps. The straps extend radially and are equally spaced apart from each other in a circumferential direction on at least the lower bearing surface of the cable containing chamber so that the flat cable slides on the straps of the sound-absorbing material.

  • Patent number: 6223706
Abstract: A tappet (1) is designed to be coupled for different lifts of at least one gas exchange valve. It comprises an outer annular section (2) which concentrically encloses a circular section (3). Both sections (2, 3) are axially movable relative to each other and are loaded in the region of their bottoms (4, 5) by cams of different lifts. Slides (8, 9, 13) extend in receptions (6a, 6b, 7) of the bottoms (4, 5). The first slide (8) cooperates with locking means (14) which scan a signal track on the opposing cam and, in a response to a lift of the signal track, block or permit a longitudinal movement of the first slide (8), the locking means yielding in their releasing direction under action of force. At the same time, the third slide (9) delimits on its radially outer end face (15), a pressure chamber for hydraulic medium. A displacement of all the slides (8, 9, 13) into their coupled position can be effected through this hydraulic medium.
