Abstract: The present disclosure relates to novel nutritional methods and compositions containing essential fatty acids which optimize embryonic, fetal and child neurological development and provide improved nutritional support for women prior to and during lactation. Further the methods and compositions improve gestational length and birth weight. The nutritional methods and compositions are also intended for use by women to optimize infant neurological development and provide improved nutritional support for women prior to, during and after lactation.

Abstract: An insert for use in the fabrication of a watercraft hull to form an inboard/outboard propulsion system passageway. The design of the insert incorporates a semi-rigid body having an inboard surface, an outboard surface, and sidewalls interconnecting the surfaces. The semi-rigid nature of the body facilitates the insert fitting tightly with the build up of laminate layers forming a watercraft hull while maintain dimensional stability during the manufacture of the hull. The insert is further configured to be easily removed from the completed watercraft hull to reveal the finished inboard/outboard propulsion system passageway.
Abstract: Compositions and method for improving properties of pulp produced or reducing the digester cycle time in alkaline chemical pulping processes in which an effective amount of at least one selected phosphonate or carboxylate compound or mixtures thereof is admixed with the alkaline aqueous mixture in the digester of the chemical pulping process. The compositions and method are especially well suited for use in the Kraft pulping process.
Abstract: An accessory for wild birds is formed from a plurality of ceramic clay flowerpots disposed in preselected relation to each other. The accessory includes a receptacle formed from a ceramic flowerpot. The receptacle has a first end and a second end and a continuous side wall of the receptacle extends between the first end and the second end of the receptacle. The continuous side wall defines a plurality of openings of preselected sizes disposed at preselected positions. At least one of a top and a bottom formed of a ceramic clay flowerpot are positioned coaxially and adjacent to at least one of the first end and the second end of the receptacle.
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for producing an assembly comprising a plurality of digital data storage media carriers attached to a carrier strip. In the production of the assemblies, carriers are positioned for movement in a longitudinal direction of the conveyor system with the carriers being in a row. Carrier strips are secured to the carriers with the longitudinal axis of the assembly and the carrier strips being generally parallel to the direction of movement of the conveyor system. Carriers are deposited onto the conveyor system via a bottom feed depositor which depositor utilizes a pressure differential to help produce positive movement of carriers from a carrier magazine onto the conveyor.

The present system and method further includes providing a plurality of slipcovers having indicia associated therewith which are shaped and dimensioned respectively to be positioned over at least one of the plurality of shaped members to simulate the particular furniture item or other home/business furnishing depicted on the slipcover, and providing at least one wall board having indicia associated therewith for simulating a particular room setting, the wall board being used in conjunction with the system components to simulate different room settings.
Abstract: A device used to facilitate the accurate shooting of an archery bow. The device includes horizontally and vertically adjustable support structure for attaching the device to a bow. Moreover, the device includes a base, a guard and sight pins. The base includes arcuate channels sized for receipt of sight pins and arched to ensure that the sight pins are aimed at the archer's eye regardless of vertical spacing. The sight pins include an offset-Y-shaped fiber support and a light-gathering fiber. The light-gathering fiber comprises a length of fiber optic material with a sighting point on each distal end thereof. The offset-Y-shaped fiber support is an offset-Y-shaped member whose offset allows for placement in either of two spaced arcuate channels while maintaining the targeting axis position of the sighting points. The guard, which encircles the sight pins, includes three fiber optic fibers spaced about its diameter to allow for low-light alignment.
Abstract: An apparatus for and method of cleaning cutting residue from one or both sides of cut meat. Meat, after being cut, for example with a band saw or the like, is passed through a curtain of fluid to impinge fluid on to at least one side of the meat for removing a substantial portion of the deleterious residue. The cleaned meat surface may then be passed through a drying area for removing cleaning fluid if the cleaning fluid contains liquid. After passing through a drying zone, brine or other ingredients may be applied to one or both sides of the cut meat.

Abstract: A bi-directional seal assembly can be used in various types of cartridge valves including dirty fluid valves and a variety of other valves. The present seal assembly utilizes a seal spool, two O-rings and opposing seal cups. Back-up rings are provided to engage the O-rings to control deformation of the O-rings. The O-rings are compressed during manufacture of the seal assembly and the valve more than typically recommended by O-ring manufacturers. Because of this compression, the O-rings serve a dual function. At lower pressures, the O-rings act as a spring causing the seal cups to contact the opposing seal plates and at higher pressures they act as seals between the seal assembly and the valve.

Abstract: A flexible bellows tube connecting pipes in a system such as a vehicle exhaust system. Various embodiments are disclosed, with each including two conduit sections having mating corrugations that overlap to provide a seal while allowing the two sections to rotate in response to torsion loading. Different configurations of the interfitting corrugations and related structure are disclosed in the different embodiments.

The present device likewise includes a Panic button for immediately activating the alarm mechanism and a removably attachable/detachable mechanism which enables the present device to be portable for attaching and detaching to a plurality of different personal baggage.
Abstract: The present invention generally encompasses eyewear having a clear, magnified, wide field of view. The eyewear comprises dual lens elements that have steeply curved front surfaces and that are specifically oriented about the head of the wearer. The lens elements have a length and surface curvature that allow the lenses to be positioned so that they extend comfortably around the cheekbone of the wearer. Additionally, the orientation of the lens elements causes the optical axes of the lens elements to deviate away from the wearer's forward line of sight in a direction generally toward the wearer's temples so that the axes converge at a point behind the lens elements. The lens elements are spaced apart so that their optical nodes are positioned slightly wider than the distance between a wearer's pupils. Finally, the lens elements have significant positive magnification caused in part by the surface curvatures.
Abstract: A floor surface treatment apparatus having a wheeled vehicle including a support for a floor surface treatment unit, the support being moveable relative to the vehicle. A floor surface treatment unit is pivotally carried by the support for swinging movement relative thereto. The support is configured to raise and lower the unit relative to the floor surface, upon movement of the support relative to the vehicle, through a range of working positions in which the unit maintains a generally vertical orientation relative to the floor surface and is generally in contact therewith and a servicing position in which the unit is swung up relative to the vehicle above the floor surface to a position in which the unit is generally angled relative to the floor surface.
Abstract: The present invention provides a semiconductor device with InxGa1-xN crystal passivation layer and manufacturing method thereof which effectively blocks the leakage current between the surface & boundary of a device and a pn-junction boundary, and enhances the light emission efficiency as forming new structural semiconductor devices by removing the conventional dielectric passivation layer and using InxGa1-xN crystal layer instead. A semiconductor device with gallium nitride type crystal passivation layer, wherein said semiconductor device has a p-n junction diode construction and forms a InxGa1-xN crystal passivation layer with a specified thickness and a width around the edge of the upper surface of p-GaN layer which is the top layer of the semiconductor device.
