Abstract: In one aspect of an embodiment, a method implemented on a data processing system for circuit design, includes: identifying one or more first portions (e.g., islands) of a design of a circuit, where each of the one or more first portions contains a set of elements interconnected via timing critical nets; and reporting inter-dependency between portions of the circuit in view of the one or more first portions. In one aspect of an embodiment, a method implemented on a data processing system for circuit design, includes: identifying a first portion (e.g., island) of a design of a circuit, the first portion containing a set of elements interconnected via timing critical nets; and performing a synthesis transformation of the first portion to isolate timing dependency of the first portion on a non-critical net connected to an element of the first portion.

Abstract: Processing is described for forming a synthetic aperture radar image of the region toward which a platform moves, and for extracting from this image the physical positions of scatterers in the region, including moving scatterers. The processing entails one-dimensional resampling of the received radar data that can be performed as the data are being collected, facilitating real-time operation. Various embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are disclosed to estimate temperature at one or more critical points in a data processing system comprising modeling a steady state temperature portion of a thermal model at the one or more critical points using regression analysis; modeling the transient temperature portion of the thermal model at the one or more critical points using a filtering algorithm; and generating a thermal model at the one or more critical points by combining the steady state temperature portion of the thermal model with the transient temperature portion of the thermal model. The thermal model may then be used to estimate an instantaneous temperature at the one or more critical points or to predict a future temperature at the one or more critical points.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for the image guidance and documentation of medical procedures. One embodiment includes combining small field of view images into a recorded image of with a large field of view and aligning the small field of view real time image with the recorded image through correlation of imaging data. A location and orientation determination system may be used to track the imaging system and provide a starting set of image alignment parameters and/or provide change updates to a set of image alignment parameters, which is then further improved through correlating imaging data. The recorded image may be selected according to real time measurement of a cardiac parameter during an image guided cardiac procedure. Image manipulations planned based on the recorded image can be stored and applied to the real time information. The position of the medical device may be determined and recorded through manipulating a cursor in a 3-D image space shown in two non-parallel views.

Abstract: Pressure regulators for beverage dispensers of the type using a high pressure gas cartridge such a CO2 cartridge. The regulators provide a simple, low cost, easily assembled and reliable regulator of particularly small size, facilitated in part by the fact that the invention allows the use of a diaphragm of a particularly small size without necessitating the use of expensive and bulky diaphragm clamps, such as threaded clamps, yet is able to provide a more than adequate seal at both the inner and outer portions of the diaphragm.

Abstract: Embodiments of parallelization and/or instrumentation in a producer graph oriented programming framework have been presented. In one embodiment, a request to run an application program is received, wherein object-oriented source code of the application program includes methods and producer dependency declarations, wherein the producer dependency declaration for a given method identifies a set of zero or more producers with outputs that are an input to the given method, wherein a producer is at least an instance and a method associated with that instance. Further, execution of the application program may be parallelized based on dependency between producers of the application program using the runtime. In some embodiments, the application program is instrumented using the runtime.

Abstract: A method for reading out pixel values for a two dimensional array, the method includes the steps of periodically combining at least two pixel values of a same first color in a first dimension of the two dimensional array; reading out the combined pixel values of the first color; and reading out pixels of a second color in the first dimension of the two dimensional array.

Abstract: Described herein are method, apparatus, and system for reducing leakage power consumption. The method comprises determining an input vector for input to a logic unit, the input vector for generating a least leakage power dissipation in the logic unit; and applying the input vector to the logic unit when a clock signal associated with the logic unit is gated. The method results in reduced leakage power consumption for the logic unit when the logic unit is not active with performing its normal operation, i.e. when the logic unit is idle.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for retiming of multirate system for clock period minimization with a polynomial time without sub-optimality. In an embodiment, a normalized factor vector for the nodes of multirate graph is introduced, allowing the formulation of the multirate graph retiming constraints to a form similar to a single rate graph. In an aspect, the retiming constraints are formulated to allowed the usage of linear programming methodology instead of integer linear programming, thus significantly reducing the complexity of the solving algorithm. The present methodology also uses multirate constraints, avoiding unfolding to single rate equivalent, thus avoiding graph size increase. In a preferred embodiment, the parameters of the multirate system are normalized to the normalized factor vector, providing efficient algorithm in term of computational time and memory usage, without any sub-optimality.

Abstract: A preparation method of composite blue luminescent thin film of sulfonated poly(p-phenylene) (i.e. poly[2,5-bis(3-sulfonatopropoxy)-1,4-phenylene-alt-1,4-phenylene]) and LDHs (Layered Double Hydroxides) is disclosed. The preparation method comprises the following steps: preparing delaminated LDHs colloidal solution using formamide solvent, preparing sulfonated poly(p-phenylene) aqueous solution, and performing alternate assembling on hydrophilically treated substrate in the two solutions to give the composite thin film of sulfonated poly(p-phenylene)/LDHs multilayer. The preparation method has the advantages of simple preparation process, and film thickness controllable at nanoscale precision, in addition, this method also achieves the immobilization of luminescent polymer via restricted space among LDHs layers and host-guest interaction, effectively improves thermal stability, and reduces fluorescence quenching caused by aggregation.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses to provide an XABORT in a transactional memory access system are described. In one embodiment, the stored value is a context value indicating the context in which a transactional memory execution was aborted. A fallback handler may use the context value to perform a series of operations particular to the context in which the abort occurred.

Abstract: Provided are an apparatus and method for providing en electronic program guide (EPG) and a terminal and method for displaying the EPG. The apparatus includes an information extracting unit extracting the information about the electronic program guide, which specifies broadcasts according to time and channel, from a broadcast signal, a document creating unit converting the extracted information about the electronic program guide into a document in a data format permitted in a user's terminal, and a command processor processing a service command regarding a broadcast selected based on the converted document. Accordingly, it is possible to make an EPG based on a user's favorite broadcasts and provide the EPG to the user's terminal.

Abstract: An example controller includes a feedback sensor circuit that receives a feedback signal representative of an output of a power converter. A feedback sampling signal generator is coupled to generate a feedback sampling signal. The feedback sensor circuit samples the feedback signal in response to the feedback sampling signal. A state machine controls switching of a switch of a power converter circuit according to one of a plurality of operating condition states in response to the feedback sensor circuit. Each of the plurality of operating condition states includes a substantially fixed switch on time. A feedback time period signal generator generates a feedback time period signal received by the state machine. A period of the feedback time period signal is substantially greater than a period of the feedback sampling signal. The state machine is updated in response to the feedback time period signal.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for real-time or near real-time streaming of content using transfer protocols such as an HTTP compliant protocol. In one embodiment, a method includes dividing a stream of data, representing the contiguous time based content of a program (e.g. a live video broadcast), into a plurality of distinct media files, and generating a playlist file having a plurality of tags and Universal Resource Indicators (URIs) indicating an order of presentation of the plurality of distinct media files. The plurality of media files and the playlist file can be made available for transmission to a client device which can retrieve the media files using the playlist file.

Abstract: A power supply includes a PFC (power factor correction) converter that has an input and an output. The PFC converter input is coupled to an input of the power supply. The power supply also includes a resonant mode converter that has an input and an output. The resonant mode converter input is coupled to the PFC converter output and the resonant mode output is coupled to an output of the power supply. A control unit is also included in the power supply and is coupled to receive a feedback signal that is representative of the output of the power supply. The control unit is coupled to provide control signals coupled to control switches of the resonant mode converter at a controlled switching frequency to control the output of the power supply. The control unit is further coupled to provide a PFC control signal coupled to control a switch of the PFC converter at a switching frequency that is harmonically related to the controlled switching frequency.

Abstract: According to one embodiment of the invention, a method for managing seamless roaming of a wireless node of a plurality of nodes forming a wireless network comprises detecting, recovering and transmitting operations. The detecting operation involves detecting receipt of a Disassociation message from the wireless node by a first node of the plurality of nodes. The wireless node is roaming and seeking to establish a new communication with a second node of the plurality of nodes. The recovering operation involves addressing information from the Disassociation message by the first node, where the addressing information identifies the second node of the plurality of nodes. The transmitting operation involves transmitting a Route Update message to at least the second node of the plurality of nodes. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: An extended universal serial bus (USB) storage device is described herein. According to one embodiment, an extended USB storage device includes a printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) having a flash memory device and a flash controller mounted thereon, and an extended USB connector plug coupled to the PCBA for providing a USB compatible interface between an external device and the flash memory device and the flash controller, wherein the extended USB connector plug includes a first end used to couple to the external device and a second end coupled to the flash memory device and the flash controller. The extended USB connector plug includes multiple communication interfaces. Other methods and apparatuses are also described.

Abstract: An extended Universal-Serial-Bus (USB) connector plug and socket each have a pin substrate with one surface that supports the four metal contact pins for the standard USB interface. An extension of the pin substrate carries another 8 extension metal contact pins that mate when both the connector plug and socket are extended. The extension can be an increased length of the plug's and socket's pin substrate or a reverse side of the substrate. Standard USB connectors do not make contact with the extension metal contacts that are recessed, retracted by a mechanical switch, or on the extension of the socket's pin substrate that a standard USB connector cannot reach. Standard USB sockets do not make contact with the extension metal contacts because the extended connector's extension contacts are recessed, or on the extension of the connector pin substrate that does not fit inside a standard USB socket.

Abstract: A register controlled delay locked loop (DLL), including: a coarse delay line for generating a delayed input clock signal by delaying an external clock signal; a fine delay line unit for receiving the delayed input clock signal in order to generate a first fine delayed clock signal and a second fine delayed clock signal; a phase detector for comparing phases of the external clock signal and a feed-backed clock signal in order to generate a phase detection signal based on the comparison result; a phase mixer for generating a mixed clock signal by mixing phases of the first fine delayed clock signal and the second fine delayed clock signal based on a weight value; and a mixer controller for generating the weight value based on the phase detection signal.
