  • Patent number: 6386624
Abstract: A front end assembly (10) is provided for attaching components to a front end (16) of an automobile chassis (18) which eliminates the duplication of structure between a conventional grille opening reinforcement and grille, and incorporates several front end components into an integrated structure. The front end assembly (10) includes a stabilizer bar (12) adapted for attachment to the chassis front end (16), and a grille system (14) adapted for attachment to the chassis front end (16) and the stabilizer bar (12). Preferably, the area occupied by the stabilizer bar (12) on the chassis front end (16) is substantially less than the area occupied by the grille system (14), such that structure is not duplicated between the stabilizer bar (12) and the grille system (14). The grille system (14) has a grille (20) mounted therein, lamp canisters (22) defined on either end (24) thereof, and lamps (26, 28) mounted within the lamp canisters (22).

  • Patent number: 6378719
Abstract: A liquid-container housing for receiving, supporting, protecting, and securing a liquid container, which has a spigot adapted to allow a user access to the liquid within the container. The housing is adapted to be fixedly mounted upon a vertically extending support structure and includes a base and a lid having a double-wall construction. The base and lid combine to define four side walls, a bottom wall, and a top wall and expose the spigot for access by the user to the liquid in the container. At least one of the group including the four side walls and the top wall is rotatable about an axis defined by a hinge formed on the housing to define a closable opening to the housing such that the housing is adapted to receive, support, protect, and secure the liquid container and facilitate the insertion and removal of the liquid container. A boss depends from the base and is adapted to accommodate the support structure so as to fixedly mount the housing to the support structure.

  • Patent number: 6367235
Abstract: A blade-mounting system for a rotary mower includes a platform operatively connected in driven relationship with a drive axle of the rotary mower. The platform includes a pair of raised edges spaced from one another and disposed on opposite sides of the platform and a plurality of upstanding lugs projecting from the platform and between the pair of edges with at least one of the upstanding lugs including a transverse hole extending through the lug. A blade is adapted to be disposed adjacent the platform and between the pair of raised edges. The blade includes apertures corresponding to the plurality of upstanding lugs such that the lugs are received through the apertures in the blade. A fastener is adapted to be received through the transverse hole in the at least one upstanding lug so as to removably mount the blade in adjacent relationship to the platform and between the pair of raised edges.

  • Patent number: 6361690
Abstract: A filter assembly includes a filter vessel having an inlet, an outlet, and defining a filter chamber therebetween. A basket assembly is removably supported within said filter chamber and has a diameter less than the diameter of the filter chamber so as to define an annular flow path about the basket assembly. The basket assembly includes an outer, permeable member and an inner, permeable member having a diameter which is less than the diameter of the outer, permeable member such that the inner, permeable member is received with in the outer, permeable member so as to define an annular space therebetween and an inner flow path. The basket assembly supports a bag-type filter over both the inner and outer permeable members bounding the annular space therebetween. The bag-type filter includes a first portion having a first, larger diameter and a second portion having a second, reduced diameter. A transition portion is disposed between the first and second portions of the bag-type filter.

  • Patent number: 6361304
Abstract: An adjustable clamp frame for securing a work piece in a thermo-forming machine includes a pair of opposed, transverse cross members, each of which are adjustable along a continuum toward and away from one another. Each transverse cross member includes at least one clamping member for securing a work piece to the frame by clamping the respective edges thereof. The clamp frame also includes a pair of opposed, longitudinal cross members, each of which are adjustable along a continuum toward and away from one another. Each longitudinal cross member includes at least one clamping member for securing a work piece to the frame by clamping the respective edges thereof. The clamping members for each of the respective pair of opposed transverse and longitudinal cross members are adapted to be disposed on a common plane when the workpiece is secured in said frame.

  • Patent number: 6294984
Abstract: An electro-pneumatic air-horn assembly comprises a horn assembly, an electrically powered air-compressor assembly, a mounting bracket, and a rigid metal conduit. The horn assembly includes an elongated trumpet. The air-compressor assembly is adapted to provide air to the horn assembly. The mounting bracket is adapted to support the air-compressor assembly and the horn assembly and mount the air-horn assembly to a vehicle. The mounting bracket includes an upper portion operatively attached to the air-compressor assembly, a lower portion operatively attached to the horn assembly, and an elbow transition extending between the upper and lower portions. The rigid metal conduit extends between the air-compressor assembly and the horn assembly to provide fluid communication therebetween. The horn assembly, air-compressor assembly, mounting bracket, and conduit are pre-assembled and adapted to be mounted directly to the vehicle as a unit.
