  • Patent number: 4728963
Abstract: A novel ink-jet printer (10) is provided. The printer provides both paper supply tray (12) and paper collection tray (18) in the front (14) of the printer for ease of paper handling and reduced footprint. The paper collection tray is provided with a pair of opposed output rails (22) which support a sheet of paper (16c) during printing to permit ink on a sheet of paper (16b) previously printed to dry.A paper handling mechanism is provided which eliminates a sheet pickup motor and associated elements. The paper handling mechanism is configured to pick off a sheet of paper from a stack of input paper, bring it around paper drive rollers (24) onto a platen (26), where the printing operation, employing a printhead cartridge (32) occurs. The resulting printer is easy to manufacture, has reduced complexity by eliminating components in the paper drive mechanism and is lower in cost.

  • Patent number: 4703457
Abstract: A register sub-circuit for a logic system is described which is capable of loading a logic signal from a bus, holding the state of the logic signal, and dumping the logic signal onto a precharged high capacitance bus. The circuit is master/slave in operation permitting the register to simultaneously dump the current contents of the register at the same time a new value is being loaded into the register. The circuit operates with a single phase clock. The circuit is easily integratable. The circuit comprises a storage sub-circuit and one or more dump sub-circuits. The circuit presents a low capacitance load to the dump control line.

  • Patent number: 4658161
Abstract: An apparatus and method are described for generating a plurality of clock edges from a reference clock signal. The clock edges which are generated are locked in phase with the reference clock signal. The edges may be at any integral or non-integral multiple of the reference clock frequency.

  • Patent number: 4656541
Abstract: A manual, front loading, cartridge activated clamp and eject mechanism for a magnetic tape cartridge is disclosed which conforms with ANSI X3.55-1977 Standard for positioning the tape cartridge. The mechanism combines the clamp and eject functions and has two stable states, an ejected and clamped states. In the ejected state, a cartridge may be removed from or inserted into the drive mechanism. The mechanism automatically moves into the clamped state when a cartridge is inserted into the mechanism and manually pushed to approximately 1.5 mm of its final position. An eject button is provided to move the mechanism from the clamped state to the ejected state and to eject the cartridge.

  • Patent number: 4596940
Abstract: A three state Emitter Coupled Logic (ECL) differential bus driver is capable of driving a multiply driven balanced ECL bus which is isolated from a supply voltage V.sub.EE and therefore provides isolation from ground loops, higher performance, lower cost, lower noise, reduced electromagnetic radiation and reduced sensitivity to ground voltage variations.

  • Patent number: 4508591
Abstract: An etching solution for the dissolution of silicon dioxide through a portable conformable mask, with PMMA as the etch stop layer, has been developed which eliminates resist lifting and non-uniform lateral etching, thereby providing the improved oxide edge definitions required for 1 micron line geometries in VLSI chips.
