  • Patent number: 6529196
Abstract: An improved device, of the type utilizing a display having pixels identified by a two-axis coordinate system, displays line segments referenced to the same coordinate system under control of a digital computer. The coordinate system, for example, having standard rectangular X and Y Cartesian coordinates, is configured so that each pixel lies at the intersection of a coordinate line from each of the axes. The improvement has an arrangement for determining as a major axis the axis of the coordinate system with respect to which the line moves most, and for defining the other one of the axes as the minor axis. For each major axis coordinate line crossing of the line segment, a pixel selection arrangement selects for display a pixel that both lies on the major axis coordinate line and has a minor axis coordinate that is closest to the line segment.

  • Patent number: 6486846
Abstract: In an antenna system for transmitting and receiving, in association with a radio device, electromagnetic radiation has an E-field component and an H-field component. The electromagnetic radiation corresponds to a radio frequency power signal having a current and a voltage at a radio frequency. The antenna system includes a first radiating element and a second radiating element, each comprising a conductive material. The second radiating element is spaced apart from, and in alignment with, the first radiating element. A phasing and matching network is in electrical communication with the first radiating element, the second radiating element and the radio device. The phasing and matching network aligns the relative phase between the current and the voltage of the radio frequency power signal so that the H-field component of the corresponding electromagnetic signal is nominally in time phase with the E-field component.

  • Patent number: 6476816
Abstract: An apparatus for displaying a polygon on a horizontal scan display device having a plurality of pixels includes first and second rasterizers that each process respective first and second sets of pixels. Each set of pixels includes vertical stripes that are transverse to the horizontal scan of the display. To that end, the first rasterizer has an input for receiving polygon data relating to the polygon. The first rasterizer determines a first set of pixels that are to be lit for display of the polygon, and also determines display characteristics of the first set of pixels. In a similar manner, the second rasterizer also includes an input for receiving polygon data relating to the polygon. The second rasterizer similarly determines a second set of pixels that are to be lit for display of the polygon, and also determines display characteristics of the second set of pixels.

  • Patent number: 6459453
Abstract: An apparatus and method for displaying a television signal on a computer monitor first receives a selected first field data block of the television signal for display by the monitor. The television signal preferably includes a stream of first field data blocks and second field data blocks that are intended for display by respective first and second sets of lines on the computer monitor. After receipt of the first field data block, an immediately preceding second field data block is faded to produce a faded second block.
