Patent number: 8266483Abstract: A method for operating a register stage of a dual function data register. A data register having master and slave latching circuits is used for concurrently storing two different words of data. Data is shifted into the master latching circuit in response to a first clock signal, and data stored in the master latching circuit is shifted into the slave latching circuit in response to a second clock signal. The first and second clocks are generated from a source clock in response to a control signal, which can be asserted at different times to initiate shifting operations from either the master latching circuit or the slave latching circuit. In otherwords, shifting operations can be initiated either on a rising edge of the source clock, or on a falling edge of the source clock.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 2011Date of Patent: September 11, 2012Assignee: Sidense Corp.Inventor: Wlodek Kurjanowicz

Patent number: 8250950Abstract: The hand tool (1) has a body (7), and a chuck (4) with an axial opening (3) on an axis of the tool. A tool element (2) is movable between a retracted position generally within the body, and an extended operative position wherein the tool element extends through the axial opening and chuck, the chuck having a stop (15) for blocking further extension of the tool element once in its operative position. A movable means (16) blocks the tool element against retraction when in the operative position, the movable means being dislodgeable when retraction is desired, to a position where the movable means no longer blocks the tool element against retraction. In the preferred embodiment, the hand tool has multiple tool elements (six for example), spaced around the axis of the tool. Each tool element, when extended, has a proximal end which abuts the distal end (14) of an axial post in the handle of the tool.Type: GrantFiled: January 3, 2008Date of Patent: August 28, 2012Assignee: Duron Plastics LimitedInventor: Gary P. Patent number: 8233727Abstract: A method and system for arbitrary resizing of a compressed image in the discrete cosine transform (DCT) domain. First and second scaling parameters P and Q are determined in accordance with the block numbers L and M and the scaling ratio L/M or M/L. A non-uniform, or uneven, sampling in the DCT domain is then applied to coefficients of successive blocks in the compressed image in accordance with the scaling parameters. In an embodiment, P blocks are sampled and transformed from a given block length to |P| according to a |P|-point IDCT, while Q blocks are sampled and transformed from a given block length to |Q| according to a |Q|-point IDCT. The non-uniformly sampled and transformed pixel domain samples are then regrouped into a predetermined block size and transformed back to generate the DCT coefficient of the compressed image. The proposed method significantly reduces the computational complexity compared with other DCT domain arbitrary ratio image resizing approach.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 2007Date of Patent: July 31, 2012Assignee: Research In Motion LimitedInventors: Longji Wang, En-Hui Yang

Patent number: 8223526Abstract: Generally, a method and circuit for improving the retention and reliability of unprogrammed anti-fuse memory cells. This is achieved by minimizing the tunneling current through the unprogrammed anti-fuse memory cells which can cause eventual gate oxide breakdown. The amount of time a read voltage is applied to the anti-fuse memory cells is reduced by pulsing a read voltage applied to a wordline connected to the unprogrammed anti-fuse memory cells, thereby reducing the tunneling current. Further tunneling current can be reduced by decoupling the unprogrammed anti-fuse memory cells from a sense amplifier that can drive the corresponding bitline to VSS.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2010Date of Patent: July 17, 2012Assignee: Sidense Corp.Inventor: Wlodek Kurjanowicz
