Abstract: In order to increase the clamping effect in an electrical screw connector used in industrial applications to fix or hold an electrical conductor, the support and contact surfaces for the electrical conductor are textured. According to the invention, the texturing of the support and contact surfaces for the electrical conductor is carried out by various production methods using embossing or stamping tools.

Abstract: A rail post bracket includes a base with longitudinal members extending up from the base creating a square or rectangular surround for insertion of a rail post support and a rail post. The rail post support is inserted first following which the rail posts can be inserted over the rail post support and removed from the bracket to avoid the need for securing the rail posts into place using grout or concrete. The bracket base is attachable to any solid surface using bolts placed through bolt holes located in the base. Attached to the bottom of the base are adjustable feet for leveling of the rail post bracket. An adjustable mechanism is attached to and partially inset in the front longitudinal member to assist in leveling the rail post. Together these features enable a rail to be leveled in every direction and can be adjusted over time if the mounting surface moves and settles, as well as enabling the easy removal and replacement of rail posts.
Abstract: A waterfall assembly features a first, substantially hermetically sealed chamber adapted to contain a quantity of liquid. The first chamber includes at least one substantially vertical and transparent side having an internal surface, preferably with a plurality of protrusions. A pump or fluid transport device is in fluid communication with the first chamber and at least one nozzle/aperture disposed within the first chamber. The nozzle/aperture directs the liquid against at least a portion of the internal surface of the vertical side of the first chamber such that some of the liquid flows over the protrusions. A second chamber having a light source may be disposed beneath the first chamber for illuminating the first chamber.
Abstract: A pumping system 10, FIG. 1, provides a physiological pulsatile flow and includes controller 121, a pump drive head 50 coupled to a motor 12 and a fluid housing 52 having at least one port 60. The port 60 includes a ball valve retainer region 69, a valve seat 73, and an occluder ball 71 disposed in the ball valve retainer region 69. During operation, the motor 12 forces the fluid in and out the fluid housing 52 and causes the occluder ball 71 to move from a first position whereby the fluid cannot pass through the port 60, to a second position whereby the fluid moves annular to and generally around the occluder ball 71. This movement creates a slight flow reversal that “breaks up” any blood clots that may form. The pumping system may be used as part of a cardiopulmonary bypass system, a ventricular assist device (VAD) and/or a heart pump.
Abstract: An assembly support with hybrid structure for front ends of passenger vehicles and light trucks includes an upper cross member (1), a lateral member (2) attached to it from below with a flange plate (3) for connection with the face ends of vehicle longitudinal members and a lower cross member (4) connecting the lower sections (2.1) of these lateral members (2). In order to reinforce the assembly support in the area of the lower cross member (4), the lower cross member (4) consists of a shell body (5) with a flange (5.1) running along its edge and projecting outward, and of a sealing part (6) whose edge area overlaps it. The shell body (5) and the sealing part (6) are made of a stiff material, whereby the flange (5.1) and edge areas (6.1) of the above-mentioned components are surrounded by injected plastic used for the hybrid structure, and are thus bound together with the lateral members (2).

Abstract: A geolocation system and method uses a single platform for determining a Doppler measurement set of a targeted aircraft or signal of interest. The electronic warfare aircraft and the ejected aircraft expendables technology device determine the Doppler measurement set of the targeted aircraft or other signal of interest. The ejected aircraft expendables technology device is initially tuned to an expected frequency of the target of interest. Re-tuning may take place after an initial signal reading and computation has been performed by the electronic warfare aircraft.

Abstract: A bracket assembly includes an angle bracket having a horizontal leg and a vertical leg. A lower bracket arm and a lock are coupled to the angle bracket and cooperate to mount the angle bracket onto an upright. The lock includes a pair of side members pivotally coupled to the angle bracket by a fulcrum bar. The pair of side members include a first pair of openings for an outer jaw and a second pair of openings for an inner jaw, the second pair of openings being disposed, in the case of a load activated lock, beneath the plane defined by the fulcrum bar and the first pair of openings. In one embodiment, inner jaw comprises a contact surface which is flat. In another embodiment, the inner jaw comprises a contact surface which includes a plurality of rasps.
Abstract: This invention relates to an emergency valve shutdown system having an integrated test facility. The invention provides an apparatus for testing emergency shutdown valves in a process industry comprising: a valve having a plurality of limit switches each limit switch arranged to indicate that the valve has reached a corresponding one of a plurality of predetermined valve positions; a valve monitor module arranged to send a signal to said valve to initiate movement of said valve and to receive feedback relating to said limit switches; wherein said feedback is provided via a single feedback signal between the valve and the valve monitor module.
Abstract: A chain guide for a continuous running transport chain includes chain links with track rollers and guide rollers that correspond to a guide rail with two tracks for the track rollers at a distance from one another and in between a groove profile for the engagement of the guide rollers. The guide rollers are supported by axle bolts that protrude at the chain links and through which the guide rollers protrude. To achieve good vibration damping of the transport chain, magnets are placed at the bottom of the groove profile of the guide rail with the magnetic circuit closing across the free ends of the axle bolts at the chain links across an air gap.
Abstract: An adjustment fitting for a seat such as an automobile seat including a fixed fitting operatively attached to a fixed seat area and a fitting that is operatively attached to a moveable seat area. The adjustment fitting is adjustable via a rotatable fitting. The fixed fitting part and fitting are connected together via a rotating adjusting device. Thus, an adjustment and locking mechanism that determines a position of the fixed fitting part and fitting with respect to each other provides a wobble drive. The rotating adjusting device includes a driven rotating adjusting element and an eccentric element rotatable about a swivel axis. The eccentric element includes crimped wedge segments having wide faces pushed apart by a spring. The eccentric ring is rotatable on a bearing shell with radial play that includes an outer bearing surface of Teflon. The bearing shell grips a collar of the fitting part that supports a collar of the driven rotating adjusting element so that it may rotate.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a safety ski binding for a ski or a ski board, which has central attaching means, and is capable of reacting to the friction between the boot and the binding. This is achieved by providing a pair of plates which are moveable one in relation to the other. A portion of the front and rear boot holding cups being moveably attached to each plate.
