Abstract: Methods for removing certain of the cells of the epithelium prior to performing corneal ablation, comprising, ablating certain of the cells of the epithelium in an area above the cornea to form an initial, substantially circular refractive curve in the epithelium, wherein the initial refractive curve is formed above an area of the cornea that will be ablated during the corrective eye surgery, and ablating certain additional cells of the epithelium to translate the initial refractive curve downward to define a bed in the epithelium, wherein the certain additional cells of the epithelium are ablated until the Bowman's membrane is at least partially exposed.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for maintaining control of a record which may have transferable value wherein the system provides for digitally signing a record in a partially-trusted distributed environment and allows a single unique authoritative copy to be held at a repository. The system meets the uniqueness and retainability requirements of current legislation relating to electronic transactions and allows electronic records to receive the same legal enforceability as paper documents. One or more secure servers along with maintenance control software provide the secure environment for parties wishing to complete electronic transactions to form legally enforceable agreements.

Abstract: The invention includes systems and methods for maintaining control of an electronic record, which may have transferable value, wherein a user may add digital signature information to a single unique authoritative copy of the electronic record held in a repository without compromising the uniqueness of the authoritative electronic record. Provided the digital signature information is valid, an authoritative electronic record may be amended to include multiple digital signatures, while continuing to be a single unique authoritative electronic record.

Abstract: An animal accident reduction system, method, and apparatus. The apparatus including at least some of a housing having substantially the same external size and shape of a raised reflective pavement marker, at least one input detector located within the housing, at least one logic and control circuit located within the housing, and at least one output device located within the housing, wherein the logic and control circuit is capable of receiving a signal from the input detector, wherein the output device is capable of receiving a signal from the logic and control circuit, and wherein the output device is capable of producing a determined sound, noise, or other vibration.
Abstract: An anti-torque thruster system implemented onboard an aircraft comprising a propulsion means coupled to the aircraft, wherein the propulsion means is capable of providing a measure of anti-torque thrust to the aircraft, a fuel storage container coupled to the propulsion means via a fuel delivery conduit, wherein the fuel storage container is capable of storing an appropriate fuel for the propulsion means, a valve means disposed between the fuel storage container and the propulsion means, wherein the valve means may be useable to regulate the flow of fuel from the fuel storage container to the propulsion means, and a controller for controlling the valve means to regulate the flow of fuel from the fuel storage container to the propulsion means, wherein the controller is capable of receiving input from at least one input device.
