Abstract: The present invention is directed to a single hand, paper towel sheet dispenser comprising a base and a core holder operable to hold a roll of paper towel segments. A paper towel dispensing bale is pivotally connected to the base, the dispensing bale includes in inner brake bar and an outer tear bar such that a roll of paper towel sheets mounted upon the core holder can be generally trained in an under/over path for braking rotation of the roll during a one handed dispensing operation.
Abstract: A process and system for continuous assay and removal of toxins from tobacco. Products such as tobacco contaminated with mycotoxins, particularly aflatoxins, and benzpyrene and its precursors, are subjected to treatment, generally in a solvent medium, to decontaminate the tobacco of the toxin. Continuous monitoring of all harmful toxins eluted from the cleaning solvent is performed by immunoantibody ultraviolet fluorescence, for example. A quality-control process ensures removal of harmful toxins from tobacco before further processing. Decontamination of extracted solvent streams and re-additives ensures safe reuse or disposal of the solvents and re-additives.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a single hand, paper towel dispenser comprising a base, a core holder operable to hold a roll of paper towel segments connected together end-to-end along perforated tear lines. The invention has a paper towel dispensing bale including mutually parallel arms that receive a paper towel strip in a general S-shaped path during a one handed dispensing operation.
Abstract: A positive pressure heat pump system and method wherein a heat pump is housed within a cabinet having an outdoor blower section and a segregated indoor blower section. The heat pump condensing coil is positioned within the outdoor air blower section and a cooling coil is positioned within the indoor blower section. A variable angle vane is operable to divert pressurized and heated outdoor air, downstream of the condensing coil, from the outdoor air blower section into the indoor air blower section, upstream of the cooling coil, so that cooled and pressurized air is recycled into the interior of a building to maintain a positive pressure within the building relative to the surrounding ambient environment.
Abstract: Accommodative intraocular lens systems having two lenses or one lens and one ring connected by sections of the same material are manufactured from a sheet material, and then the connecting sections are bent to align the optical axis of the lenses. Accommodation is achieved either when the two lenses are moved closer and further from each other, or when the single lens is moved closer and farther from the retina of the eye.
Abstract: An ultra-lite modular composite building assembly system, comprising the lamination of rigid solid and expanded matrix materials, that can produce a functionally homogeneous composite structure capable of supporting over three hundred times its own weight. The rigid material, as the primary structure capable of sustained axial stress, is encapsulated within the body of the matrix material as a sheet or membrane that is bonded to and laterally braced by the matrix material. As a corrugated sheet or membrane, it may be either thermoformed or extruded and integrated into the body of the matrix composite in either a static or continuous foam molding process. The rigid material may be a solid polymer and the matrix material may be either an expanded polymer or any other structural foam matrix with similar characteristics. Further, extremities of the rigid material may be configured for tools-free interlock with adjacent building components.
Abstract: A load restraint method for securing cargo within transport containers such as intermodal containers including first and second load restraining strips with an adhesive coating on one surface of the strips for adherence to sidewalls of an intermodal container and a locking load restraining strip for bonding the free ends of the first and second load restraining strips together into a load restraining system.
Abstract: A multi-activity driliship, or the like, method and apparatus having a single derrick and multiple tubular activity stations within the derrick wherein primary drilling activity may be conducted from the derrick and simultaneously auxiliary drilling activity may be conducted from the same derrick to reduce the length of the primary drilling activity critical path.
