Abstract: This invention disclosure describes a conditioned single phase hydrocarbon-based fuel, a method for producing such fuel and components useful in such method. The described conditioned hydrocarbon-based fuel is a single phase hydrous fuel with improved performance, handling and storage characteristics. A method is also is also provided for producing the conditioned hydrocarbon-based fuel using a semi-solid activator. The resulting conditioned hydrocarbon-based fuel has a volume greater than the unmodified hydrocarbon-based fuel, a BTU content greater than the BTU content of the unmodified hydrocarbon-based fuel, less particulate emissions and less non-particulate emissions than the unmodified hydrocarbon-based fuel, and a water content less than the water content of the unmodified hydrocarbon-based fuel.

Abstract: An apparatus for supporting a pipe segment during installation has been developed. The support includes a frame with two parallel arms and two beams that connect the arms, where each beam extends downward from the arms. Also included are four support bearings located at each corner of the frame, where the bearings provide four separate points of contact for a pipe segment.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for securing a wheel to an axle that is particularly useful when the axle has fractured. The apparatus connects to the axle, for example at the axle flange, and also connects to the wheel hub assembly. A stabilizer contacts the axle conferring extra strength and stability to the apparatus, for example by extending inside of the hollow fractured axle. A reinforcement member can optionally be used to more firmly secure the apparatus to the axle. Methods for using the apparatus are also provided.

Abstract: The current invention is a split windshield which can be stored on a vehicle or deployed into a single windshield to provide protection for a rider on the vehicle. The windshield includes an upper and lower portion and also includes an upper and lower frame attached to the upper and lower portion of the windshield. There are mounts for attaching the windshield to a vehicle.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes a novel interchangeable flip-flop/sandal footwear that is capable of interconversion between a flip-flop and a sandal by movement of a heel and/or forefoot band between a first stored position and a second in-use position. In the first stored position, the heel and/or forefoot band is movably stored adjacent to the heel portion of the sole. In the second in use position, the heel and/or forefoot band is placed on the user's foot as described herein. In one embodiment, the flip-flop/sandal comprises a sole, a forefoot cover, at least one of a heel band and a forefoot band, each of which being capable of movement between a first stored and a second in-use position, at least one central member rotatably secured and received by the sole, said central member being in removable communication with the heel band and/or forefoot band and at least one void or indentation in the sole to rotatably receive and secure the central member.

Abstract: Described is a novel method for the detection of ncRNA molecules. The disclosed method is especially useful for the detection miRNA and siRNA. The method can be used to generate a profile of the ncRNA molecules present in a sample. In addition, using the methods of the present disclosure a ncRNA signature for a given disease or condition can be created. The ncRNA signature can be used for diagnostic purposes, therapeutic purposes and drug discovery purposes, as well as other uses.

Abstract: Described is a multi drug multiligand conjugate for targeted drug delivery. The MDML conjugate contains a plurality of tripartite molecules linked to a central scaffold moiety, with each tripartite molecule comprising a targeting molecule, a therapeutic agent and a scaffold binding element. The MDML conjugate allows for more efficient delivery of therapeutic agents to the cells resulting in enhanced therapeutic efficiency. A model MDL conjugate is disclosed as well as method for the synthesis of the model conjugate.

Abstract: The present method describes a new method for the measurement of dark adaptation. The dark adaptation status of subjects may ten be used to identify those subjects who are at risk of developing and/or who are currently suffering from a variety of disease states having their clinical manifestations in impaired dark adaptation. The disease states include, but are not limited to, age related macular degeneration, vitamin A deficiency, Sorsby's Fundus Dystrophy, late autosomal dominant retinal degeneration, retinal impairment related to diabetes and diabetic retinopathy. An apparatus for administering the test method described is also provided.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes an improved system and method for treating wastewater or other liquid. Furthermore, the present disclosure provides a control program for operating the system and method. In one embodiment, the treatment process utilizes a biological nutrient removal activated sludge process utilizing a continuously sequencing reactor (CSR).

Improved x-ray scatter control is provided through the alignment of the system with the focal line of an anti-scatter grid. Abstract: The present disclosure provides novel methods of producing a composition, such as, but not limited to, a polyimide composition. The methods in their most general form comprise providing a workpiece, suspending the workpiece and subjecting the suspended workpiece to processing such that the workpiece undergoes a transformation from a first state to a second state. By maintaining the workpiece in a suspended state during processing, processing-related defects are reduced or eliminated. Using such methods, the present disclosure provides compositions that are have no or reduced processing-related defects. In addition, the compositions are more consistent in chemical and physical properties and are cheaper and more economical to produce (since less product is rejected as unsuitable).
