  • Patent number: 7469657
Abstract: An apparatus and method for selectively controlling an animal or pet's access to food is provided by a platform that moves with relation to a base. A lever is connected between the chassis of the platform and the base, whereby parallel movement of the chassis towards the base causes an arm of the lever to engage a door adapted to prevent access to the food. An opposing force is provided and preferably adjustable by the user so the user can set the weight sufficient to cause movement between the platform and the base. The device can be constructed either to prevent access or to allow access to the food upon movement of the platform.

  • Patent number: 7436515
Abstract: This invention describes an improved method and apparatus for the analysis of fluid borne particles and which is especially suitable for the detection of airborne biological particles. In one aspect of the invention provides an apparatus for the detection of fluid borne particles which comprises a zone through which a fluid to be analyzed flows in use, a source of illumination to illuminate/irradiate fluid borne particles present in said zone, and a detector to detect light from the particles as an indicator of the presence or characteristics of the particles, wherein the apparatus comprises an integrating sphere and the zone is within the integrating sphere. The apparatus is highly sensitive and can be used for detecting airborne particles even where the particles are present at very low particle concentrations in the air.

  • Patent number: 7355835
Abstract: A capacitor has stacking capacitor elements, each of which contains a conductor plate, a first band being an insulator and disposed around the plate, a second band being an insulator and disposed around the plate so as to be substantially parallel to the first band, an insulating coating covering a region sandwiched between the first and second bands, a cathode layer formed on the insulating coating, and an anode containing the plate and formed on an outer side of at least one of the first and second bands. The cathode layers are elctrically connected to each other through paths each connecting in series the facing two cathode layers of the adjacent two elements and path(s) connecting in parallel the cathode layers to each other, and the anodes are electrically connected to each other through path(s) connecting in parallel the anodes to each other.

  • Patent number: 7316316
Abstract: An integred display card and goods holding container is provided. A well for the goods is formed integrally with the card, the integral structure preferably made of plastic but can be made of wood or metal. A cover is provided for closing the well, such as a screw top. The cover and the card can be provided with structures, such as pawls and catches, so that when the cover is fully engaged with the well, the structures provide evidence of tampering if the cover is removed from the card. Alternatively, or in addition, entire card can be shrink-wrapped or a seal, such as a tamper proof seal, can be placed over the cover.

  • Patent number: RE41381
Abstract: A system useable in a jet aircraft having installed therein a pressurized oxygen supply which feeds oxygen into the interior of the plane when it flies at high cabin altitudes, the system indicating the changing status of the supply as oxygen is drained therefrom. The system includes a pressure transducer coupled to the supply and means associated with the transducer to determine the lapse rate at which the pressure of the supply is reduced as oxygen is drained therefrom to yield a first signal representing this pressure lapse rate, and to concurrently determine the lapse rate at which the number of liters of oxygen in the supply is reduced as oxygen is drained therefrom to yield a second signal representing the liter lapse rate. These signals are applied to a microprocessor in whose data base is entered the total oxygen inventory of the supply and the oxygen demand of the plane in which the supply is installed.
