Abstract: A method for controlling the motor of an air handling system to provide a desired output of flowing air therefrom while minimizing the power used by the motor, including operationally connecting a switched reluctance electric motor to a blower, operationally connecting an electronic controller to the switched reluctance electric motor, operationally connecting at least one sensor to the electronic controller, measuring at least one environmental parameter with the at least one sensor, inputting the desired air flow into the electronic controller, calculating the minimum motor speed necessary to provide the desired air flow, and sending a control signal from the electronic controller to the motor to control the motor to the minimum motor speed necessary to provide the desired air flow.
Abstract: The invention relates to an adsorption filter material with a multilayer construction, particularly with a permeable adsorptive barrier layer composite, preferably for ABC protective clothing, wherein the adsorption filter material has at least a first barrier layer having a plurality of openings and at least a second barrier layer having a plurality of openings, as well as an adsorption layer disposed between the first and second barrier layers, wherein the first and second barrier layers are disposed in such a manner, that the openings and the openings do not overlap and/or do not coincide. The adsorption filter material is very comfortable and, at the same time, offers excellent protection against chemical poisons.
Abstract: A method for automatically transmitting requested floor plans to emergency responders en route to a building, including receiving a request for the plans for a building located at a location identified as the destination of emergency responders, retrieving requested plans from a central database, and transmitting retrieved plans to emergency responders. The central database includes plans for a plurality of buildings located at a plurality of respective locations.
Abstract: Described is an adsorption filter material, in particular for NBC protective apparel, preferably for wearing next to the skin, in particular as an undergarment (underwear), wherein the adsorption filter material has a multilayered construction, wherein the multilayered construction comprises a first textile sheet material, a second textile sheet material and an adsorption layer disposed between the first and the second textile sheet materials, wherein the adsorption layer includes discrete, in particular grain-shaped, preferably sphere-shaped, sorbent particles, preferably based on activated carbon, adsorbing chemical and/or biological poison and noxiant materials, in particular warfare agents.
Abstract: A high energy density multilayer ceramic capacitor, having at least two electrode layers and at least one substantially dense polycrystalline dielectric layer positioned therebetween. The at polycrystalline dielectric layer has an average grain size of less than about 300 nanometers, a particle size distribution of between about 150 nanometers and about 3 micrometers, and a maximum porosity of about 1 percent. The dielectric layer is selected from the group including TiO2, BaTiO3, Al2O3, ZrO2, lead zirconium titanate, and combinations thereof and has a breakdown strength of at least about 1100 kV per centimeter.
