Abstract: The invention relates to a cooking utensil, for example a cooking pot, wherein the latter has an ion exchanger and/or absorber and/or adsorber and/or filter and/or other device for the extraction of residues of pesticides, herbicides, synthetic fertilizers, hormones and the like from the products to be cooked and prepared, i.e. from the foodstuffs to be prepared, their preparation liquid and/or their vapors during the cooking process. The said harmful substances are to be extracted in this way from the products to be cooked.

Abstract: A tamper resistant animal guard for a drain pipe outlet having self cleaning prongs for preventing the admission of small animals while allowing sticks, leaves and other debris to flow from a drain pipe is provided by the utilization of a plurality of individually rotatable prongs axially disposed on an axle or shaft. A mounting bracket for mounting the axle or shaft is preferably of a flexible material to conform to the inside circumference of the drain pipe while engaging the ends of the axle or shaft which extends substantially across the diameter of the drain pipe.

Abstract: The substitution of the L-Pro at the 7-position of the peptide hormone bradykinin or other substituted analogs of bradykinin with an aromatic amino acid or the D-configuration converts bradykinin agonists into a bradykinin antagonist. The invention further includes additional modifications at other positions within the novel 7-position modified bradykinin antagonists which increase enzyme resistance, antagonist potency and/or specificity of the new bradykinin antagonists. The analogs produced are useful in treating conditions and diseases of the mammal and human body in which an excess of bradykinin or related kinins are produced or injected as by bites into the body.

Abstract: A method and control system for gear cutting machines such as hobbing equipment, shaper cutters and bevel-cutting equipment for achieving greater accuracy, productivity, and gears of increased quality while eliminating error, tedious calculations, labor and product variation is provided by employing a control system and utilizing a method of gear cutting wherein optimum cutter efficiency is maintained by electronically monitoring and controlling cutter input power, cutter shift and workpiece feed or in an alternative embodiment by varying index drive and feed drive in response to inputs measured from the cutter or cutter motor to produce gears approaching the optimum theoretical calculated configuration.

Abstract: The invention pertains to novel, potent anticonvulsants, analgesics and cognition enhancers achieving their action through the antagonism of specific excitatory amino acid neurotransmitter receptors. In particular, the invention is directed to .omega.-[2-phosphonoalkyleneyl)phenyl]-2-aminoalkanoic acids having general formula: ##STR1## Wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are the same or different and are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, lower alkyl, halogen, --CH.dbd.CH--CH.dbd.CH.dbd., amino, nitro, trifluoromethyl or cyano; n and m=0, 1, 2, or 3; and the pharmaceutically acceptable salts and derivatives thereof.

Abstract: A transformable circulation tool for reversing the path of drilling fluid at the drill bit without removing the drill string from the borehole annulus is provided by a substantially hollow body having a chamber with external ports disposed between a section of the body having a through passage and a by-pass passage in combination with a diverter mounted on a telescoping member having means for engaging the body during drilling and disengaging the body for rotation of the diverter with respect to each of the passages. A seal is rotatably mounted to the substantially hollow body between the ports to divide the well borehole into an upper conventional flow portion and a lower portion where the flow of the drilling fluid can be reversed upon command from the surface.

Abstract: A frying pan is disclosed comprising an upward-facing pan border surrounding a pan bottom to define a pan body, the pan bottom including an upper side to provide a frying surface and a bottom side to provide a stand surface. At least one depositing surface is disposed inside the pan border adjacent to the pan border, with the depositing surface being smaller in area than the frying surface. The depositing surface is raised with respect to the frying surface and spaced, in plan view, outside of the stand surface, with connecting means disposed between the depositing surface and the frying surface which connecting means includes a step.
