  • Patent number: 7812210
Abstract: The invention relates to a refuse treatment plant (1) with a closed construction, which permits the aerobic degradation of organic material, for example in refuse comprising biodegradable fractions. The refuse treatment plant (1) comprises a bay (5) with an aeration and deaeration installation. At least one refuse treatment chamber (16), which is connected to the bay (5) via an opening (7) in the bay wall, is located on at least one external face of the bay wall (6). The refuse treatment chamber (16) is configured by a cover tarpaulin (30), which is provided with a raising and lowering device (20), is water-and particle-tight but permeable to air and water vapour. The cover tarpaulin (30) comprises an edge (32), which is attached to the bay wall (6) and to the ground (50) in a rigid and airtight manner by means of a fixing device (50). The raising and lowering device (20) can be configured with the aid of a pneumatic support structure (22) consisting of inflatable tubes (23).

  • Patent number: 7785290
Abstract: The present invention provides a balloon which achieves diameters greater than 6 mm for securement to a catheter. The balloon includes an elastomeric generally hollow pressure expandable body which exhibits essentially radial symmetry and constant length when expanded under an internally applied minimum working pressure from an uninflated state.

  • Patent number: 7547312
Abstract: A buttress for use with circular surgical staplers that does not require adhesive to securely fasten the buttress to the stapler. Following cutting and stapling by the circular stapler, the buttress has an adaptive opening through its central region with a diameter smaller than the outer diameter of the stapler anvil. Because of relief features built into the buttress, the stapler anvil may be pulled through the buttress material without causing permanent alteration to the buttress. These relief features may be provided regardless of whether the buttress is made of inelastic or elastic materials. The buttress is generally circular in shape with an outer diameter sized to coincide with the outer diameter of the stapler body staple compression surface and the outer diameter of the anvil compression surface of a circular stapler with which it is used. Prior to surgical use, the buttress is attached to the stapler with disruptable portions extending from outer perimetal areas of the buttress.

  • Patent number: 7451530
Abstract: A device for forming a seal includes upper and lower seal members, and a slider, wherein mating surfaces of the seal members interlock. In at least one embodiment, a lifting rib and closure bar on the slider cooperate with a lifting wing and closure bar groove on the upper and lower seal members, respectively. By moving the slider in one direction, the lifting rib lifts the upper seal member from the lower seal member. Moving the slider in the opposite direction causes the upper and lower seal members to interlock. In another embodiment, a slider has an intermediate lateral member connected on one side the slider top, and connected on the other side to the slider bottom. A breakaway sealing device is also provided, allowing a person to break the closed seal. A beginning stop block is also provided that includes a means for securing the upper seal member.
