Abstract: The present invention provides a general biocatalyst for transforming saturated carbonyl compounds to their .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated analogs. The transformation is regio- as well as stereoselective. These catalysts are useful in the chiral resolution of carbonyl compounds as well as in the development of libraries of small molecules to screen as potential drug candidates.

Abstract: A racket having a substantially planar striking surface connected to one end of a neck where the other end of the neck is adjacent to a handle. The handle is rotatable relative to the planar striking surface about an axis to one or more predetermined positions. One end of the handle comprises a male member protruding away from the handle toward the neck and an end of the neck has one or more indentations, wherein the male member releasably engages the one of the one or more indentations at one of the one or more predetermined positions.
Abstract: A foot rest is provided with a platform that can be vertically adjusted and tilted by the user using only their feet. The foot rest includes a base with a support, a tilt column that cooperates with a locking assembly, and a platform. The locking assembly can be actuated by the user's foot to vary the vertical height of the platform. The platform is slidably engaged to the tilt column to allow the user to vary the inclination of the platform from the horizontal independently of the vertical adjustment.
