  • Patent number: 7518519
Abstract: Systems, methods, or computer program products may collect information about the performance of individual RFID tags. In particular, signal strength and/or signal sensitivity of individual RFID tags may be measured and the resulting performance information may be stored in a data repository. In the data repository, the performance information for an individual tag may be associated with an identifier that is uniquely associated with the tag. In one exemplary embodiment, the performance information may be used by an on-line system configured to automatically determine the performance margin with which RFID tags are being read in an RFID system, or to automatically tune the RFID system to achieve a desired performance margin.

  • Patent number: 7484982
Abstract: An operating head, such as a hair trimming device, is mechanically and electrically connected to a power supply unit, for example in the form of a handle, by a bayonet coupling, with a female member on the handle and a male member on the trimming device. The male member has a plug part that engages slidably into a sleeve portion of the female member and has pin projections for cooperation with bayonet slots in the sleeve portion. Electrical contacts are arranged centrally within the plug part and the sleeve portion which themselves form further electrical contacts. A shroud surrounds the male member and engages the handle through a seal to prevent water ingress to the electrical contacts.

  • Patent number: 7441336
Abstract: The invention relates to a hand held electrical appliance having a handle and a head part to be brought into contact with the body of the user, such as a toothbrush with a brush head or a safety razor with a head part in the form of a blade unit, including an electrically operable vibration generating device, for example an electric motor and eccentric weight, and a control device for controlling operation of the vibration generating device. The control device is proximity or touch sensitive and includes a sensor element, such as an electrode formed by a blade of the blade unit, so that the vibration generating device is actuated in response to a person using the appliance and moving the blade unit (or other head part) into close proximity to or into contact with the body area to be treated.

  • Patent number: 7415767
Abstract: The invention relates to safety razors having a blade unit carried on a handle that includes a vibration mechanism and a control device for controlling operation of the vibration mechanism, the control device being connected to an electrode arrangement that can comprise a blade and an electrically conductive casing of the handle, to detect water so that the vibration mechanism is activated in response to the blade unit being immersed into a body of water for rinsing.
