Abstract: An apparatus for positioning a data storage cartridge. The apparatus includes a shuttle, a frame, and a lift mechanism. The shuttle is adapted to receive the data storage cartridge. The frame is adapted to receive the shuttle and has a stop. The lift mechanism is configured to move the shuttle between an unloaded position and a loaded position. The stop inhibits movement of the shuttle when the shuttle is in the unloaded position.

Abstract: A bottle dispenser is configured for storing and dispensing bottles having a neck rim. The dispenser includes a substantially rectangular housing with a central opening formed therein. A bottle carrier lid is secured within the central opening and includes a sloped guide track configured for slidably supporting the neck rims of a plurality of bottles for storing and dispensing the bottles. The guide track is sufficiently sloped to advance bottles along the guide track automatically as bottles are dispensed.
Abstract: An improved method and system for translating an optimization problem for use in efficient resource allocation. The improved method of the present invention includes the step of generating an index link record for each of the index variables in the optimization problem so as to eliminate the need for a symbol table and a plurality of temporary data records. The method also includes the step of linking the index link records of the index variables requiring expansion in a reverse order of the order listed in the optimization problem so as to reduce the number of traversals performed during expansion processing. The index link records have a pointer for identifying the next index variable requiring expansion.
