  • Patent number: 5752809
Abstract: A cam plate is mounted on a drive shaft in a crank chamber. A plurality of pistons are operably coupled to the cam plate. The rotation of the drive shaft is converted to a linear reciprocal movement to compress and discharge refrigerant gas containing oil mist. An extracting passage extracts the refrigerant gas from the crank chamber to remove an excessive pressure in the crank chamber. The extracting passage is open to an accommodating chamber which receives the refrigerant gas from the passage. A bearing is disposed in the accommodating chamber and receives an axial load acting on the drive shaft. A bolt absorbs an assembly tolerance of the bearing. A first protuberance is provided on the bearing protruding in a radial direction with respect to the drive shaft so as to become aligned with the passage. The first protuberance engages an inner surface of the accommodating chamber to prevent rotation of the bearing.

  • Patent number: 5752499
Abstract: A variable capacity type viscous heater is provided which can carry out the capacity control reliably, and which can inhibit the endurable heat-generating efficiency of a viscous fluid from deteriorating even after a long period of service. For instance, its rear housing 6 is provided with a control chamber 9 which is communicated with a central region of a heat-generating chamber 7, and which has an internal volume capable of expanding and contracting. When a rotor 14 is kept rotated, a silicone oil held, in the heat-generating chamber 7, expands the internal volume of the control chamber 9 by the Weissenberg effect in the capacity reduction. As a result, the heating is relieved, because the silicone oil, held in the heat-generating chamber 7, is collected into the control chamber 9.

  • Patent number: 5741122
Abstract: A compressor has a housing body, a drive shaft, a swash plate, and a piston. The swash plate converts rotation of the drive shaft to reciprocating movement of the piston in a cylinder bore. The piston compresses gas supplied to the cylinder bore from an external circuit via a suction chamber and discharges the compressed gas to a discharge chamber. The swash plate is tiltable with respect to a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the drive shaft according to differential pressure between the crank chamber and the suction chamber. The swash plate controls the displacement of the compressor based on the inclination thereof. A spool is movable longitudinally between a first position and a second position in response to the inclination of the swash plate. The spool connects the external circuit with the suction chamber in the first position and disconnects the external circuit from the suction chamber in the second position. The housing body has a surface slidably engaged by the spool.

  • Patent number: 5739266
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for modifying a polyethylene in an extruder by bringing the polyethylene into contact with oxygen or a gas mixture containing oxygen in the extruder, optionally in the presence of a relatively small quantity or preferably in the absence of short-term antioxidant agent. The polyethylene is then treated thermomechanically in the molten state in the extruder supplying a relatively high specific mechanical energy, the thermomechanical treatment is completed when the value of the loss tangent of the polyethylene characterizing its viscoelastic state decreases in a desired proportion. The polymer thus treated is particularly suitable for being transformed by blown extrusion into a film having a considerably increased bubble stability.

  • Patent number: 5733107
Abstract: A compressor with a compressing device compresses gas containing oil mist. The compressing device includes a compression chamber. A receiving chamber receives the compressed gas discharged from the compression chamber. The receiving chamber has a duct for discharging the gas from the receiving chamber. A hollow cylinder communicates with the duct and projects inside the receiving chamber. The gas directed toward the duct flows around the cylinder to generate centrifugal force for separating the oil mist from the gas.
