  • Patent number: 8308219
Abstract: A convertible top and method of operating the convertible top is disclosed. The top has a power cylinder that is mounted to the top stack linkage that lifts the one bow from the windshield header on a four bar link and also simultaneously releases the pressure applied by a pressure link to the rear bow. The pressure link includes an upper link and a lower link that are locked together in an over-center relationship when the top is extended to eliminate vibration of the rear bow or lifting the rear bow off of the rear deck.

  • Patent number: 8312442
Abstract: A computing system has an amount of shared cache, and performs runtime automatic parallelization wherein when a parallelized loop is encountered, a main thread shares the workload with at least one other non-main thread. A method for providing interprocedural prefetching includes compiling source code to produce compiled code having a main thread including a parallelized loop. Prior to the parallelized loop in the main thread, the main thread includes prefetching instructions for the at least one other non-main thread that shares the workload of the parallelized loop. As a result, the main thread prefetches data into the shared cache for use by the at least one other non-main thread.

Abstract: In one embodiment, an exhaust device has an inner cone stack assembly made up of connectedly overlapping inner cone components with frustums. The inner cone stack assembly is disposed within an outer shell and connected to the exhaust device using contoured flanges to match the contours of mounting surfaces on the exhaust device. An outer cone stack assembly made up of baffle ring retainers having a number of detents and baffle frustums with ears inserted in the detents. The outer cone stack assembly is also disposed within the outer shell. The cone frustums of the inner cone stack assembly and the baffle frustums of the outer cone stack assembly cooperate to break down particles and attenuate sound.

  • Patent number: 8303039
Abstract: An adjustable head restraint assembly is provided with a support rod adapted to be mounted proximate to a vehicle seat back. A primary frame is supported on the support rod. A secondary frame is mounted to the primary frame for translation in a fore and aft direction. A locking arm is pivotally connected to one of the frames for engagement with a series of notches formed in the other. A biasing member cooperates with a locking arm for biasing the locking arm into a locked position. An actuator pivots the locking arm out of engagement from the series of notches for unlocking the locking arm and permitting adjustment of the adjustable head restraint in the fore and aft direction. The primary frame translates along the support rod with a locking arm for engagement with notches in the support rod for movement by the actuator for adjustment in an upright direction.

  • Patent number: 8306728
Abstract: Primary and secondary keys are adapted to be associated to primary and secondary drivers. A key ignition device is positioned on each of the primary and secondary keys and is configured to generate a driver status signal indicative of whether the driver the primary driver or the secondary driver. A controller is operably coupled to the key ignition device. The controller is adapted to determine whether the driver is the primary driver or the secondary driver. The controller is adapted to generate a position notification signal indicative of the position of the object with respect to the vehicle. The controller is adapted to notify the primary and secondary drivers of the position of the object. The controller is adapted to selectively control the operation of generating the position notification signals based on whether the driver is the primary driver or the secondary driver.

  • Patent number: 8303920
Abstract: An object of this invention is to diminish a ratio of a concentration of N2O in the dilution air to a concentration of N2O in the measurement object gas diluted by the dilution air as much as possible by removing N2O in a dilution air so that a measurement accuracy of a concentration of N2O in a measurement object gas can be improved. A heater 33 that applies heat to the dilution air, a Pd catalyst 341 and a Pt catalyst 342 are arranged in this order on a flow channel where a dilution air used for diluting the measurement object gas flows, and N2O in the dilution air is oxidized to NOx or reduced to N2 by the Pd catalyst 341 and the Pt catalyst 342.

  • Patent number: 8302578
Abstract: A method and an engine are disclosed for determining an amount of fuel in the engine oil. Such information can be used to recommend an oil change and to estimate a fraction of biodiesel in the fuel supplied to the engine. According to one embodiment, actual oil volume in the oil pan is based on a signal from a level sensor in the oil and a theoretical oil volume is determined based on initial oil volume and fuel entering the oil in the oil pan, fuel leaving the oil pan due to evaporation, and oil being consumed in the combustion chamber. Based on the difference between the actual and theoretical oil volumes, a proportion of biodiesel can be determined and transmitted to an engine control system.

  • Patent number: 8306193
Abstract: A method of pairing Bluetooth™ enabled devices including a portable phone with a Bluetooth™ communications module of a vehicular, hands-free telephone system includes using vocal communications to prompt an operator of the phone to enter a given PIN number into the phone. The presence of any Bluetooth™ enabled devices within the vicinity of the communications module is searched. Vocal communications are used to prompt the operator to vocally state a name for the phone and to vocally state a pairing priority to be assigned to the phone. If the assigned pairing priority is not assigned to another Bluetooth™ enabled device, then the name and the pairing priority are associated with the phone. Communications between the communications module and the phone are then enabled if the phone has the highest pairing priority amongst all of the Bluetooth™ enabled devices present within the vicinity of the communications module.
