Patent number: 7591515Abstract: This invention relates to a device to deflect debris and to reduce the accumulation thereof in the guide lug receiving space defined between the inner and outer portions of a wheel of a tracked vehicle. The device generally comprises a resilient band structure having a loop or collar portion partially disposed around the wheel of the vehicle and inside the guide lug receiving space thereof, a connecting portion adapted to be mounted into a support element fixed to the tracked vehicle and located about the wheel, and a deflecting portion extending between the loop portion and the connecting portion. The loop portion at least partially embraces the wheel and generally remains in a slipping contact therewith in order to support the deflecting portion. The deflecting portion effectively deflects debris away from the guide lug receiving space of the wheel and also prevents excessive accumulation of debris therein.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 2007Date of Patent: September 22, 2009Assignee: Soucy International Inc.Inventors: Rémi Breton, Louis James Verville

Patent number: 7543879Abstract: The present invention provides a system for mounting a windshield onto small vehicles such as all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles or other similar vehicles. The mounting system generally comprises a pair of receiving elements, each of them being adapted to be mounted to the vehicle and comprising a receiving cavity. The mounting system also comprises a windshield support frame which is adapted to support a windshield panel and which also comprises a pair of mounting elements or protuberances receivable in the receiving cavities of the receiving elements. Once the mounting elements are received in the receiving cavities, the frame is fixedly retained on the receiving elements by a pair of locking mechanisms. By a simple actuation of the locking means, the windshield panel and its support frame can easily be installed or removed from the vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 2007Date of Patent: June 9, 2009Assignee: Soucy International Inc.Inventor: Vincent Morin

Patent number: 7540303Abstract: A valve has a valving element which is rotatably fitted within a valve body. This valving element of the valve is joined by a stem or shaft portion which extends out of the valve body to interact with an actuator and transmit torque to the valving element. In plug valves, pressure needs to be also applied to the valving element to insure a proper closure. The invention relates to a mechanism to adjustably seal the stem/body interface using only one screw that is positioned on the front of the valve cover for easy access. The force generated by the screw is transposed into a vertical force by a rotatable cam. The multiple faces of the cam are used to transmit the force vertically and horizontally and will maintain the mechanism in a straight position.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2007Date of Patent: June 2, 2009Assignee: Fluoroseal Inc.Inventor: Nicolas Paul

Patent number: 7526819Abstract: The conservation of water is an issue that preoccupies an increasing number of people. Among all domestic appliances, toilet is an appliance that consumes an appreciable quantity of water. The present invention provides a dual flush system that allows to select the volume of water when using a toilet by choosing between two volumes of water. The dual flush system can be easily installed without tools on a toilet.Type: GrantFiled: January 25, 2008Date of Patent: May 5, 2009Inventor: Pierre Beaupré

Patent number: 7480423Abstract: An all-fiber, phase controlled interferometer device is disclosed as well as its method of manufacture. This device is suitable for use in an optical DPSK demodulation system. It is comprised of two optical fiber couplers, each having two input and two output ports and two branches between the couplers of unequal length. The couplers have a splicing ratio of 50% over the wavelength operating range of the device. The two branches between the couplers are shaped to provide one bit of delay between the branches and are also shaped to make a compact device. Also, the two branches are formed in such a manner as to minimize birefringence in the device. In addition, a fiber heater is provided to heat the longer branch so as to obtain phase control of the interferometer. The method of producing such a device is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 2006Date of Patent: January 20, 2009Assignee: ITF Laboratories Inc.Inventors: François Seguin, Denis-Alexandre Brulotte, Julien Tremblay, Claude Deslisle, Alexandre Wetter, Denis Bouchard, François Gonthier

Patent number: 7425044Abstract: This invention relates to endless tracks and systems used to propel track laying vehicles [i.e., vehicles which use endless tracks rather than tires to contact the terrain over which they are driven, e.g., tractors, tanks, bulldozers, etc.] and, more particularly, to an improved rubber track design and system allowing the endless track to be driven more efficiently at highway speeds. The track is made from a polymer adapted to travel over a drive sprocket, a plurality of guide wheels and a tensioning wheel, the track having a first exterior ground engaging surface and a second interior drive sprocket engaging surface, the track comprising: a carcass portion in which reinforcements are embedded into the polymer; a plurality of tread lugs disposed on the first engaging surface; a plurality of drive lugs disposed on the second engaging surface and a plurality of guide horns disposed on the second engaging surface.Type: GrantFiled: November 22, 2005Date of Patent: September 16, 2008Assignee: Soucy International Inc.Inventors: Gilles Soucy, Claude Faucher, André Deland, Marc Delisle

Patent number: 7373070Abstract: A package for an optical fiber device is disclosed. It has a high thermal conductivity packaging substrate surrounding the optical fiber device and has adhesive bonds at each end anchoring the optical fiber device to the substrate. The adhesive bonds are made of a material that has high transparency in damp heat as well as a high glass transition temperature and is capable of withstanding temperatures of over 100° C. The packaging substrate has a high absorption capacity and a CTE in relation to the CTE of the adhesive bond, such as to compensate for any variation in the adhesive bond due to temperature variations. This allows to limit mechanical stress in the optical fiber device within the package.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 2007Date of Patent: May 13, 2008Assignee: ITF Laboratories Inc.Inventors: Alexandre Wetter, François Seguin, Lilian Martineau, Mathieu Faucher
