Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention relate to a method and a system for detecting unwanted conversational media session data. In accordance with one aspect of the invention, a method of detecting unwanted conversation media session data according to some embodiments of the invention may include calculating two or more progressive similarity scores each with respect to a different instant during a progress of a real-time conversational media session, wherein each of said scores is associated with a similarity between the conversational media session's media data that was available at the associated instant and a reference data item corresponding to media data of a previous conversational media session, and evaluating progressive similarity between the real-time conversational media session and the reference data item based upon the two or more progressive similarity scores.

Abstract: The molecular mechanisms of peroxisome biogenesis have begun to emerge: in contrast, relatively little is known about how the organelle functions as cells age. The present inventors characterized age-related changes in peroxisomes of human cells and showed that aging compromises peroxisomal targeting signal 1 (PTS 1) protein import, with the critical antioxidant enzyme, catalase, especially affected. The number and appearance of peroxisomes are altered in these cells, and the organelles accumulate the PTS1-import receptor, Pex5p, on their membranes. Concomitantly, cells produce increasing amounts of the toxic metabolite, H2O2, and this increased load of reactive oxygen species (ROS) may further reduce peroxisomal protein import and exacerbate the effects of aging.

Abstract: A scalpel shield system for a scalpel that has a handle and a blade with a sharp cutting edge. The system is mountable on the scalpel and provided with a blade guard member having a pivot component engagable with a pivot component on the blade or the handle. The blade guard member is manually pivotable relative to the scalpel between a guard position for preventing injury by the sharp cutting edge and a retracted position for exposing the sharp cutting edge.

Abstract: A probe device for use in non-invasive optical measurements of at least one parameter of the patient's blood. The probe device comprises a finger holder in the form of a clip member that secures a fingertip between its clamping legs. The probe device supports a measuring unit for applying optical measurements to a measurement location on the finger and carries a pressurizing assembly operable for applying controllably variable, substantially under-systolic pressure to the finger in the vicinity of the measurement location. Several measurement sessions are performed at the measurement location with at least two different 3 wavelength of incident light to detect light response of the medium and generate measured data indicative thereof, and the pressure applied to the vicinity of the measurement location is simultaneously varied during measurements. The broach cutting teeth have bottom cutting blades and first and second sides. The first sides are guide flanks, the edges of which are guide edges without cutting ability. Abstract: A guard device for machines such as bending presses, cutting machines, stamping machines or the like, has a first machine part which performs operative movements toward a second machine part. A laser photoelectric detector arrangement is attached to the first machine part and possesses at least one photoelectric detector, whose light beam shines in an adjustable secure distance from this machine part. On interruption of the light beam the operative motion is arrested. An abutment arrangement on the second machine part prevents interruption of the light beam. The photoelectric detector arrangement is either so laterally offset that an interruption of the light beam by the first machine part is excluded during further movement or the photoelectric detector arrangement is arranged on the first machine part in the working path thereof. A switch, able to be worked on reaching the abutting position, deactivates photoelectric detector.

Abstract: A replaceable orifice unit is disposed outside a pressure or a flow regulator valve, and therefore easy in maintenance, requires the smallest possible number of components, is compact in construction to save space, free from any fear that fluid impurities in a fluid circuit bank up against an upstream side of an orifice piece (2) of the unit, advantageous in replacing one type of chemicals flowing through the circuit with another type, and also advantageous in manufacturing cost. The replaceable orifice unit is constructed of a tube member (1), in which the orifice piece (2) assuming two symmetrically arranged similar triangular shapes in longitudinal cross section is fixedly mounted. Formed between vertexes of the triangle shapes is an orifice (2a). An O-ring is coaxially disposed between the tube member (1) and the orifice piece (2) to prevent the fluid from passing through therebetween.

The narrow grooves guide a lubrication oil from the oil groove toward the axial end side with rotation of the shaft. The narrow grooves are shallower and narrower than the oil groove.

Abstract: A monoclonal antibody which is specific to a polypeptide having a molecular weight of 18,500±3,000 daltons on SDS-PAGE and a pI of 4.9±1.0 on chromatofocusing. The monoclonal antibody is obtainable from hybridomas and can be used for the purification and detection of the polypeptide. The polypeptide strongly induces the IFN-&ggr; production by immunocompetent cells with only a small amount, and dose not cause serious side effects even when administered to human in a relatively-high dose.
