    Abstract: A shelving system includes a plurality of shelves each having spaced front and rear hooks projecting from each side edge, each rear hook being spaced forwardly from the rear edge of the shelf, and a support framework for adjustably supporting the shelves at spaced intervals. The framework has a pair of support posts located on each side of the shelves, each pair of support posts comprising a front support post located adjacent the front hooks of the shelves and a rear support post located adjacent the rear hooks of the shelves. Each support post has a series of vertically spaced openings for receiving the shelf hooks. The posts are positioned so they are much less vulnerable to damage, and can be made out of light material with an open configuration. Brackets attach to the shelf to allow the easy addition of useful accessories to the standard shelf.

    Abstract: A oral care brush device is described for use primarily for massaging and stimulation of sensitive gums and teeth. The brush head is hollow but closed at one end, and is made of a shape-retaining but soft and resilient material. One end of the brush handle is inserted into the hollow handle and is configured to substantially seal the open end of the head and trap air inside, the trapped air providing an air cushion effect. The air cushion effect and the soft head allow use of the device for effective and thorough cleaning, massage and stimulation of the gums and teeth notwithstanding the user's tooth or gum sensitivity.

    Abstract: A system and method for automatically loading a pre-selected value onto a smart card allows a patron to enter or leave a transit system gate without having to add a fare value at a vending machine. The automatic loading provides added convenience and security for the patron. The vehicle for the automatically-loaded value is either a credit card that is pre-authorized for use by the patron, or the patron's available benefits. The automatic loading process may be utilized to autoload values of benefits only, or to load values from a combination of benefits and credit card transactions. The pre-selected autoload value is loaded onto the smart card at the gate before confirmation that the credit card transaction is authorized. The gate sends a message to a transit central computer that an autoload has occurred. The central computer determines whether benefits are available to fill the request, and forwards a request for the difference to a credit processing company.

    Abstract: A method and composition for the removal of contaminants in a gas stream used in the contamination sensitive processes of photolithography and metrology are described. The synergistic effect of a combination of an electropositive metal component, a high silica zeolite, and a late transition metal compound effects removal or reduction of the contaminates in the gas which interfere with light transmittance to the ppb or ppt levels necessary for the gas to be suitable for these uses. The removal of neutral polar molecules, neutral polar aprotic molecules, protic and aprotic alkaline molecules, acidic polar species, and neutral non-polar aprotic molecules is accomplished with the claimed composition. Depending on the type of contaminant, the composition components are each varied from 10 to 80 parts by volume, with the total composition limited to 100 parts by volume.

    Abstract: A method is described for rapid and economical activation and/or preconditioning of gas purification substrates by providing forced convection of the preconditioning or activating gas through the pores of the substrate. The gas is pumped into the substrate-containing vessel and raised to an elevated pressure, which is maintained for a short predetermined time, followed by venting of contents of the vessel. The vessel is again pressurized with the purging gas to an elevated level, and the elevated pressure is maintained for a short predetermined time, followed by venting of the vessel. This cycle is repeated as often as needed or desired. Activation and/or preconditioning can be accomplished in a much shorter time and with much less gas usage compared to diffusion preconditioning and activation processes. This process is particularly suited for preconditioning and activation of gas purifier substrates for decontamination of gases down to ≦1 ppm contaminants.

The methods consist of an automated factory calibration process that allows the laser to meet strict requirements for precision and reliability. The methods also consist of a process for continuously monitoring and adjusting the laser for changes due to temperature or aging by measuring monitored laser performance variables, utilizing the appropriate models and adjustment techniques and finally performing the adjustments while the laser is in use, that is, without the need to disconnect the laser from the system.
