Abstract: Telecommunications apparatus and method for detecting any unusual activity in customer behavior. A comprehensive behavior profile of a customer is generated on the basis of customer transactions. The profile includes a short-term customer behavior obtained from all of the customer's transactions, and further includes a long-term customer behavior obtained on the basis of the generated short-term behavior. Any behavior deviation from the profile is detected and identified as fraudulent or unusual.
Abstract: A fully automatic table game player tracking system for Blackjack and other casino games wherein players have individual betting positions on the table is disclosed. An individual B&W CCD chip reading turret is placed inches in front of each player's betting position to scan wagered chips using ambient casino lighting. The turret also has a “comp” light to indicate to the player at the beginning of every hand that his bet was read credited for his complimentaries (meals, room, entertainment, etc.), thus delivering to the player extra gaming satisfaction every hand. Patterns of repeated coding around the playing chips' peripheral surface represent with light and dark contrasting colors the dollar value and particular casino issuer of the chips.
Abstract: To register current codec types of a mobile station with a network side, the mobile station 11 notifies, when it conducts the location registration or a mobile user replaces his or her old mobile station, a visitor location switching system 5, which is associated with the current location of the mobile station, of the codec types supported by the mobile station 11 using a mobile communication control signal between the mobile station and the mobile network. Receiving the notification, the visitor location switching system 5 enters the update of the codec types into a location register 41 in a memory home station that controls the mobile network 2. The codec types can be thus registered into the mobile network 2 using the mobile communication control signal. Since the mobile network 2 can always acquire the latest codec types for the mobile station, the discrepancy is canceled between the codecs the mobile station supports and the codecs the network registers.
Abstract: A baseband spread modulation signal is input to a matched filter (131). The matched filter (131) despreads the spread modulation signal using the output of a spreading code replica generator (132). The matched filter (131) outputs the despread signals at L timings. The output signals are multiplied by multipliers (201) by corresponding weighting factors output from a weighting factor controller. The multiplied outputs are demodulated by demodulators (202), and RAKE combined by an adder (118). A data decision section (203) generates from the RAKE combined signal a data decision signal. An error signal generating section (204), receiving the RAKE combined output and the data decision signal, obtains an error signal.
Abstract: The present invention discloses methods for improving awareness of the status of a task, and for improving collaboration among users involved in a task. Methods are provided in which activity data is displayed simultaneously in two separate regions of a screen display. A first region can contain a list of users in association with an activity most recently performed by each user. A second region can contain a list of data objects in association with an activity most recently performed on each of the data objects. Collaboration tools can be accessible through the list of users or the list of data objects.

Abstract: The present invention discloses method, apparatus, and article of manufacture for a computer-implemented financial management system that permits the trading of securities via a network. A server computer receives buy and sell orders for derivative financial instruments from a plurality of client computers. The server computer matches the buy orders to the sell orders and then generates a market price through the use of a virtual specialist program executed by the server computer. The virtual specialist program responds to an imbalance in the matching of the buy and sell orders.
Abstract: A method and system for presenting an interactive multi-window video display which provides particular advantages in a one-way television broadcast system in which user selections can not be transmitted to a head end or other central station. The system comprises a receiver for receiving a multi-window video signal representing a multi-window video display comprising a number of reduced size video displays. The reduced size video displays each contain video representing programming being currently offered on a different channel. The system presents the multi-window video display on a display device such as a television and allows viewers to select of one of the reduced size video displays. When the reduced size video is selected for highlighting, the audio associated with that video is presented. When the highlighted video is selected, the receiver tunes to the channel upon which the video is available in full screen mode.

Abstract: A system and method for frequency planning in a wireless communication network area using an impact matrix which relates signal interference impacts between sectors in a network service are for co-channel and adjacent channel interference. The impact matrix uses weighted propagation analysis and empirical measurement data to determine signal levels within each pixel of a network service area. The system merges the propagation analysis and empirical measurement data according to user assigned confidences.
