The information is to be extracted by evaluating at least one mathematical function which operates on one or more selected calculation variables. The presented information is to be partitioned on one or more selected classification variables.

Abstract: In a specified pattern detection apparatus, a first filter detects a partial image included in a specified pattern in input image data, and a memory device stores bi-level data on the existence of the partial image based on output signals of said first filter. Then, a detector detects the specified pattern from the bi-level data stored in said memory device. In a different way, in a specified pattern detection apparatus, a first resolution converter converts input image data to image data of first resolution. A processor performs a predetermined processing on the image data of first resolution, and a second resolution converter converts the processed image data of first resolution to image data of second resolution lower than the first resolution. Then, a detector detects a specified pattern based on the image data of second resolution.

Abstract: A method of providing information in a directory system comprising a directory for company information, goods and services; a communications network; a directory computer operated by a directory provider; a plurality of search computers operated by enquirers which search computers are connected within the network; and a plurality of active content providers operating active content provider computers, at least some of which are connected to the directory computer. The company information, goods and services are classified by unique identifiers. Lists of goods and services and company information are provided as provider content from both active and passive content providers. These are stored in a provider database with unique identifiers. The directory computer on request downloads to the search computer one or more queries to allow the search computer specify the search correctly and then the directory computer downloads the search result.

Abstract: A high density magnetoresistance memory and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. The magnetoresistance memory includes: a memory cell storing information; a conductive line contacting the memory cell to change the magnetization direction of the memory cell by generating a magnetic field; and at least one flux concentrating island (FCI) located between the conductive line and the memory cell for concentrating flux onto the memory cell. The flux is concentrated onto the memory cell to reduce a required electric current and improve selectivity, thereby forming a high-density and highly integrated memory cell.

Abstract: Novel defective adenoviruses for the transfer and expression of an exogenous nucleotide sequence in a host cell or organism. The invention also relates to novel complementation lines and to the process for the preparation of these novel defective adenoviruses and their use in therapy and to a pharmaceutical composition containing same.

Abstract: Fibrous material layer intended to be incorporated in an absorbent article. The layer (5) comprises at least two webs of tow fibers arranged on top of each other, which are bonded to each other into a laminate by means of a bonding pattern, and where one is corrugated and the other web is substantially smooth, wherein the corrugated web exhibits a more open structure in comparison to the smooth web. A method of manufacturing the layer (5) in question, in which method at least two separate webs (15a, b) of opened and into a layer spread-out tow are fed into a bonding station (20), which webs exhibit different web tensions and/or web speeds, and that the webs (15a, b) with maintained relative difference in web tension and/or web speed are bonded together in said bonding pattern (10) into a laminate.
