Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for oxidizing hydrocarbons, in particular branched or unbranched saturated aliphatic hydrocarbons, cycloaliphatic or alkylaromatic hydrocarbons to acidic or polyacidic compounds. The invention relates more particularly to the oxidation, with an oxidizing agent containing molecular oxygen, of cyclohexane to adipic acid, in the presence of organic acid of lipophilic nature and in the absence of adipic acid. The separation and recycling of the unoxidized cyclohexane, the oxidation intermediates and the catalysts are easier than in the presence of acetic acid.
Abstract: The subject-matter of the invention is a process for the preparation of silicone oils which are weakly colored and low in turbidity by hydrosilylation of polyorganohydrosiloxanes with different or identical synthons comprising at least one hydrocarbon-comprising ring in which is included an oxygen atom, the said reaction being carried out in the presence of a heterogeneous catalytic composition comprising a metal chosen from the group consisting of cobalt, rhodium, ruthenium, platinum and nickel deposited on an inert support.

A footwear item in accordance with the invention includes a sole that includes a top layer attached to a bottom layer such that their edges are fused together. Abstract: The invention concerns an improved method for preparing catalysts for hydrosilylation reactions of compounds with ethylene or acetylene unsaturation (for example olefins or acetylene derivatives), in particular but not exclusively those involving polyorganosiloxanes (POS) bearing Si—H units and POS bearing Si-(ethylene or acetylene unsaturation) units. Abstract: A seal for a pool skimmer is provided. The seal is attached to the inner periphery of the faceplate, at the opening for fluid passage from the pool to the skimmer housing and filter assembly. In this manner, the surface of the seal is generally flush with the faceplate.
