  • Patent number: 8286985
Abstract: An architecture is presented that provides a double hinged tow hitch. The tow hitch is attached to a tow vehicle and allows full traction to the ground and complete control of steering. The tow hitch comprises two hinges secured together by a pin positioned at an upper portion of the hinges and a pin positioned at a lower portion of the hinges. The pins secure the hinges together and allow the hinges to flex in two positions. Additionally, the tow hitch comprises springs positioned on either side of the hinges and rubber positioned between the hinges to act as a shock absorber. When pressure is applied to the tow hitch, the springs will collapse into either the upper or lower portions of the hinges, causing the hinges to flex in two positions and pressing against the rubber between the hinges, thus acting as a suspension system for the tow hitch.

  • Patent number: 8230561
Abstract: An apparatus for lowering an urn comprises a frame, a substantially horizontal platform for supporting the urn, and a lowering mechanism mounted to the frame that is releasably connected to the platform. The lowering mechanism automatically releases the platform when the platform is in the bottom position. To releasably connect the lowering mechanism to the frame, four hangers may be used to releasably connect the platform to respective suspension straps. Each hanger may comprise a square body for insertion through a corresponding square hole in the platform. Each hanger may have a pivoting arm that pivots into a substantially horizontal posture to support the platform from underneath, the pivoting arm of the hanger comprising a counterweight to cause the pivoting arm to return to a substantially vertical posture when legs underneath the platform reach the bottom position.

  • Patent number: 8006915
Abstract: An ultrasonic waterjet apparatus (10) has a mobile generator module (20) and a high-pressure water hose (40) for delivering high-pressure water from the mobile generator module (20) to a hand-held gun (50) with a trigger and an ultrasonic nozzle (60). An ultrasonic generator in the mobile generator module (20) transmits high-frequency electrical pulses to a piezoelectric or magnetostrictive transducer (62) which vibrates to modulate a high-pressure waterjet flowing through the nozzle (60). The waterjet exiting the ultrasonic nozzle (60) is pulsed into mini slugs of water, each of which imparts a waterhammer pressure on a target surface. The ultrasonic waterjet apparatus (10) may be used to cut and de-burr materials, to clean and de-coat surfaces, and to break rocks.

  • Patent number: 7895955
Abstract: An overhead storage shelf having a pair of side panels, with each side panel including a base, an outer rib connected to the base, and at least one reinforcement rib connected to the base. The storage shelf further includes a mounting strip for connecting the pair of side panels, wherein the mounting strip facilitates the securing the shelf to a single beam. The storage shelf also includes a front plate and a rear plate. One of the front or rear plate includes a protruding member and the other of the front or rear plate contains a groove wherein the protruding member of one storage shelf can be engaged in the groove of another storage shelf, allowing multiple storage shelves to interconnect.

  • Patent number: 7874784
Abstract: An accessory for a forklift vehicle is described herein. The accessory is designed to attach to the forklift vehicle using the original forks of the forklift vehicle. The accessory provides additional forks, attached to a base bar that is wider than the width of the forklift vehicle and the original forks of the forklift vehicle. The wider forks of the accessory exist on a plane parallel to but lower than the original forks, wherein the original forks are used solely for the connection of the attachment to the forklift vehicle, and will not be in direct contact with the lifted load when the accessory is used. Only the additional forks provided by the accessory are in direct contact with the load lifted by the forklift vehicle. The wider forks provided by the forklift accessory allow the forklift to handle wider loads with ease.

  • Patent number: 7845204
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming cup-shaped members used in conjunction with a single-acting or a double-acting press having an outer punch assembly, an inner punch assembly and a base. A draw pad and a cutting edge are carried on the outer punch assembly, a draw horn is carried on the inner punch assembly and a blank and draw die is carried on the base. The draw pad and the draw horn oppose the blank and draw die such that the draw pad clampingly engages the blank and draw die in order to exert a clamping pressure on the pressure piston system having first and second pistons vertically stacked with respect to one another. The pressure piston system includes a damping member located within the pressure piston system for continuously increasing the clamping pressure during advancement of the outer punch assembly toward the base of the press.
