Abstract: According to some embodiments, a plurality of input records may be received from a plurality of sources, and each input record may include a plurality of fields. It may then be detected that a set of input records from different sources are related to each other (e.g., are duplicates). One of the set of input records may be automatically selected as a master record in accordance with a record level rule. At least one field in the master record may, according to some embodiments, be automatically modified based on a corresponding field in another input record in accordance with a field level rule. The modified master record could then be stored for subsequent use by other applications.

Abstract: A computer system is provided for selecting an asset allocation for an investment portfolio intended to produce a target payout starting at a target date. The computer system is programmed to receive inputs that may relate to the target payout, the target date and a nominal rate of contributions to the investment portfolio. The computer system calculates a plurality of simulated investment outcomes based on assumed investment return rates and assumed inflation rates. The assumed investment return rates and assumed inflation rates are randomly selected in multi-year clusters from historical data. The computer system selects the asset allocation based on relative performance of the assumed asset allocations in the simulated investment outcomes.

Abstract: A method includes detecting a trigger condition, and in response to detecting the trigger condition, reducing a voltage applied to a graphics controller component of a memory controller. The reduction in voltage may cause the voltage to be reduced below a voltage level required to maintain context information in the graphics controller component.

Abstract: An apparatus, computer product, and a method for use in association with a joint venture are disclosed. The method including receiving information associated with a joint venture; determining an amount of a distribution based at least in part on an agreement; determining financial information for the joint venture based at least in part on the amount of the distribution; storing the financial information in a database; retrieving the financial information from the database using a processing system; providing a graphical user interface to allow a user to define a hurdle set; defining one or more hurdle sets in response to input to the graphical user interface; and determining, in the processing system, an amount of a distribution based at least in part on the financial information and one or more hurdle set.

Abstract: A method includes receiving an authorization request for a purchase transaction, and determining whether the authorization request arose from proximity-reading a proximity payment device. The method further includes mapping a first account number included in the authorization request into a second account number associated with the first account number if it is determined that the authorization request arose from proximity-reading a proximity payment device and if the first account number is qualified for mapping. In addition, the method includes transmitting the authorization request to an issuer financial institution with the second account number substituted for the first account number in the authorization request.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method transforms transactional data into a forecast of demand for controlling a commerce system. Goods move between members of a commerce system. The transactional data is recorded. Daily disaggregating parameters (DDP) are estimated by minimizing an error function of day of week and transactional data grouped according to promotion, price range, or customer. Model parameters are estimated based on the DDP and transactional data using a demand model to generate a weekly forecast of demand for the good. The weekly forecast of demand is disaggregated into daily components using the DDP. The daily components of the forecast of demand are provided to a member of the commerce system to control the movement of goods in the commerce system. Any variation in the demand model due to promotions, price changes, out-of-stock, and low selling product is taken into account when determining the daily components.

Abstract: A computer implemented method for determining the reference values of sensitivities and strategies for price optimization demand models from a profit function and current product price. A total profit objective is expressed as the maximization of profit and volume, where a strategy parameter represents the relationship between profit and volume. From the total profit objective, the bounds of the strategy parameter are expressed as conditional inequalities relating the bounds to functions of the unit profit at the current rate and average volume. The strategy parameter is then set to the average of these bounds. The reference elasticity is expressed as a function of the unit profit function and average volume. The resulting reference values can be used in a price optimization system to generate recommended prices that relate to an industry's current pricing scheme.

Abstract: A neural network resource sizing apparatus for database applications. Through use of multiple database application metrics input into a neural network learning algorithm, recommended resource capacities are generated. Input parameters such as the number of records, lookups, images, PDFs, fields, BLOBs and width of fields for example may be utilized to train a neural network to yield needed resource metrics such as the processing power, memory, disk and/or network capacities required to run the database application. Training for the neural network may involve running tests over all desired cross interactions of input and output parameters beginning for example with a small repository and ending with the maximum complexity of data and schema test. The training data is input into the neural network for the given database application version and utilized to plan resource utilization. A portal or webservice may be utilized to provide an interface to the apparatus.

Abstract: A visual interactive multi-criteria decision-making method and computer-based apparatus for portfolio management. The method/apparatus supports partitioning of a portfolio of physical or other assets into two mutually exclusive categories, such as assets recommended for sale and assets recommended for retention. The method/apparatus utilizes one or more coupled 2-D projections of the portfolio in criteria space. The user interacts with the projections to express and record preferences.

Abstract: A system may provide generation of a file to declare one or more persistent classes, the file formatted according to a markup language syntax, and generation, based on the file, of code of an object-oriented language to declare the one or more persistent classes and to describe a structure of each of the one or more persistent classes. Further aspects may include calling a constructor to register an interface to a description of a persistent class, accessing the registered interface to determine the structure of the persistent class, and processing an instance of the persistent class based on the determined structure.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing information about a model of a test for an application, using an application model, the method comprising the steps of: providing a pre configuration of the application or a part thereof; providing a transformation parameter; and providing an at least one post configuration of the at least one application or a part thereof. Once the pre-configuration, transformation parameter of post-configuration are provide, a test description is generated, which can then be compiled to suit and testing tool or environment.

Abstract: A method of operating a computer system includes storing, in the computer system, a database containing performance measure data regarding performance measures of a plurality of items. The method further includes inputting into the computer system a plurality of performance measure constraints. The method also includes modeling the performance measure constraints with a set of equations. The equations include a plurality of variables. Each of the variables corresponds to a respective one of the items. Each variable is, for example, to be assigned either the value “1” or the value “0”. The value “1” may represent a recommendation to take an action relative to the corresponding item in the portfolio and the value “0” may represent a recommendation to take another action. The computer system is used to solve the set of equations to generate one or more solutions that satisfy the performance measure constraints.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for adapting the looks of an at least one control developed in an environment to a portal developed in a different environment. The apparatus and method enable the preview of a component comprising the control without deploying the changes to the portal, so other users can continue using the component in an uninterrupted manner until deployment.

In response to the captured event, a subset of data objects are selected that may be related to the event. A list associated with the subset of data objects may then be created, wherein the list is at least partially ordered based on a degree of relevance between a data object in the list and the event. Information associated with the created list may then be provided.
