  • Patent number: 6207601
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a melt-blown non-woven fabric based on cellulose esters, with fibers of mean diameter less than about 10 microns. The fabric contains 0-10 wt. % extractable softener, has a reflection factor determined according to DIN 53 145 Part I (1992) of more than 60% and the cellulose ester has a degree of substitution DS of about 1.5-3.0. The softener is preferably water-extractable. A melt-blown non-woven fabric is produced with the cellulose ester as follows: a cellulose ester, cellulose acetate, with a DS of about 1.5-3.0, in particular 1.7-2.7, is mixed with softener in a weight ratio of about 2:1 to 1:4 and simultaneously heated and melted. The mixture of softener and cellulose ester has a melting index MFI (210/2.16) according to DIN 53 735 of about 400 to 5 g/10 min., in particular 300 to 50 g/10 min. The melt is worked in a melt-blown spinning device into a melt-blown non-woven fabric and the softener is then extracted with a softener solvent to leave a proportion of 0-10 wt. %.

  • Patent number: 5466149
Abstract: An improved heating torch including a barrel, a top mounting, a gas release device, a flame device and a casing unit. After assembly, by turning a switch button, the flow of fuel gas and initiation of a piezoelectric device to start ignition may be controlled. Two copper sheets which retain a regulating sponge therebetween regulate the pressure of fuel gas for maintaining a stable pressure. The reciprocating movement of a control core conceals or opens a connecting hole for regulating gas flow. A ring notch and a corresponding air vent controls the mixture of air and fuel gas. A front end of the heating torch may further be provided with a soldering-iron, and a base plate is provided on the bottom of the barrel for keeping the torch in a stable position.

Abstract: Automatic carding machine for uppers including a carriage upholding the upper to be scraped and travelling longitudinally along guides constrained to the top of the machine. The upper sector of the carriage runs on similar guides transversely. The movements can be performed simultaneously by means of independent activation members and the carriage translation speed as well as the upper sector are programmable so that the card can intervene in variable measure on the different peripheral parts of the upper arranged on the carriage. The tool or card automatically reverses its direction of rotation so as to roughen the back of the shoe from the outside toward the inside.

The top rail has an integral retainer ridge formed lengthwise on its bottom surface. The retainer ridge includes a pair of shoulders having transversely registered pairs of recesses at prescribed longitudinal spacings. A pair of grooves are formed lengthwise in the respective lateral surfaces of the retainer ridge, and another pair of grooves are formed lengthwise in the bottom surface of the top rail on both sides of the retainer ridge. The jaws of each baluster are inserted into the respective grooves in the bottom surface of the top rail via the respective recesses, and the mid-portions of the jaws are then caused to project into the respective grooves in the lateral surfaces of the retainer ridge by pressing operation. The balusters can likewise be connected to a bottom rail.
