  • Patent number: 7014196
Abstract: A method of fabricating an in-line roller skate is provided. The in-line roller skate has a chassis (2;39) equipped with at least two rollers (3) and two platforms (4, 5; 34; 47) and a boot (1; 30). The boot has a supple upper connected to a lower panel and is capable of enclosing a wear's foot. The method includes the steps of (a) inserting a rigid insole (17; 31, 50; 55; 56) into the boot; (b) fixing fasteners between the rigid insole and the chassis, thus sandwiching the lower panel therebetween; and (c) optionally, inserting a comfort sole into the boot to cover the rigid insole.

  • Patent number: 6997482
Abstract: The control element has a first drawing printed on a first side of the article, comprising at least a first set of geometrical shapes. It includes a second drawing printed on a second side of said article, the second drawing being printed so as to face the first drawing and be in register with the latter, said second drawing comprising at least a second set of geometrical shapes corresponding to the first screen. At least one of said geometrical sets includes sectors which are offset so that, when the front side/reverse side register is correct, the control element has regions of variable density which are visible in transmitted light and are created by said offset sectors.

  • Patent number: 6972538
Abstract: The control device includes a switch (12) controlling the power supply to the motor and an actuator which actuates this switch by rotatably reacting against the moving object being restrained so as to cause said switch to be opened and to cut off the power supply to the motor. This actuator consists of a bistable mechanical device (11) capable of taking up a first state in which the switch (12) is closed and a second state in which the switch is open. The actuating device also comprises exclusively manual means, such as a cable (17) for putting the actuating device into its first state, this device being brought into its second state by reacting against the moving object.

  • Patent number: 6951347
Abstract: The front binding (1) comprises two jaws (5a, 5b) holding a boot vertically and laterally by means of their actions on the sole of the boot and articulated on a carriage (4) that is movable in translation between two extreme positions in which the action of the carriage (4) on release means gives rise to the release of the boot by rocking of one or other of the jaws (5a, 5b). The carriage (4) is returned to an intermediate position by an elastic means. The binding is noteworthy in that the rocking pins of the jaws (5a, 5b) are parallel to the longitudinal axis of the binding. The binding makes it possible to hold a boot having a sole that makes it easier for the user to walk.

  • Patent number: 6948428
Abstract: A method by which stacks of printed sheets can be formed and, at the same time, the risk of soiling of the stacked sheets can be reduced to the maximum extent. To this end a printing machine is proposed, in particular a sheet-fed printing machine, into which unprinted and intermediate sheets are alternatively feed, wherein the printing is registered such that the printing occurs only on the unprinted sheets and not on the intermediate sheets. In this way, the intermediate sheets prevent damage to the print on the printed sheets.

  • Patent number: 6932821
Abstract: An elongated cutting tool (10, 110) intended to plunge cut a blind form in a bone using a plurality of teeth (30, 130) arranged on the tool. At least one of the teeth is an undercut tooth (30, 130) having a cutting edge (470, 570). The undercut tooth (30, 130) has a profile defined substantially along a primary relief angle (480, 580) measured from a vertical reference plane (477, 577) passing though the cutting edge (470, 570) and by a positive rake angle (485, 585) measured from a horizontal reference plane (472, 572) passing through the cutting edge (470, 570). The undercut tooth (30, 130) has a parabolic, non-circular relief (490, 590) along which bone chips are guided substantially away from the bone being cut, thereby avoiding capturing debris in the teeth and, consequently, avoiding overstressing the bone during cutting.

  • Patent number: 6932102
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for regulating the flow rate and/or the pressure of a fluid transferred from a high-pressure reservoir (H) to a reservoir (S). A first valve (1) provided with a control (2) is mounted in a pipe (10, 11, 12) connecting the two reservoirs (H, S). A Laval nozzle (3) located downstream of the first valve (1) is provided with an electrical pressure-drop sensor (4). A second valve (5) provided with a control (6) is connected between the downstream part of the Laval nozzle and an exhaust orifice (R). A micro-programmed system (7), designed to receive the values read by the pressure-drop sensor (4) and to drive the two controls (2, 6) of the two valves (1, 5) makes it possible to regulate the flow rate and/or the pressure of the fluid transferred from the first reservoir (H) to the second reservoir (S).

  • Patent number: 6918913
Abstract: A surgical instrument is described that has a distinctive torque-transmitting coupling assembly. A tubular member made of super-elastic alloy has a driven end and a driving end with an integral tongue member, which defines a passageway that extends along a first axis. A fitting member defines a shape presenting a first mating interface surface. A tool-bit member has a second axis and presents a second mating interface surface adapted for receptive complemental facing with the first mating interface surface, including a recess formed in the second mating interface surface. Relative motion activates the super-elastic alloy of the tongue, which detentively snaps into the recess to align the first and second axes with one another. A flexible surgical reamer is similarly disclosed, where the fitting has an aperture opening onto the first mating interface surface and the tongue projects through the aperture.

  • Patent number: 6912046
Abstract: An instrument for measuring chromatic dispersion in optical fibers. The instrument comprises two independent modules, an optical source (2?) and a receiver (4?). The optical source (2?) comprises two pulse producing circuits: one driving a laser (35), which will be used as a timing reference, and the second driving a light emitting diode (LED)(34), emitting a short light pulse with a broad spectrum. The receiver (4?) comprises a wavelength-selection element (46), which filters one or several wavelengths out of the LED spectrum, a photodetector (43) for detection of the laser pulse, a photon-counting detector (41) for detection of the filtered LED pulses, and a high-resolution timing circuit (42) for measuring the time delay between the laser pulse and the LED pulse. A preferred embodiment includes the wavelength-selection element (46) which is a series of Bragg gratings, thus selecting several fixed wavelengths.

  • Patent number: 6892429
Abstract: The brake device (30) for a lace (2), of a boot (31), sliding in a base part (1) linked to the boot (31), comprises a lever (3) articulated on the base part (1), returned by an elastic means (11) into a position of contact with the lace (2) preventing the sliding of the lace (2) in one direction by pressing action. The lever (3) has holding means (15, 16) enabling it to maintain a second, stable position allowing the sliding of the lace (2) in both directions, thus making the action required for opening the boot more convenient.

  • Patent number: 6851176
Abstract: The method makes it possible to form a stator of an electric motor by means of a multiple-slide press (21, 22, 23). The starting point is a bundle consisting of rectilinear segments of sheets obtained by stamping and welded. The stator is formed by means of four successive operations carried out by four groups of slides of a multiple-slide press and corresponding dies. The cylinder formed is subsequently welded along its joining generatrix and is calibrated in a hydraulic press.
