Patent number: 7946667Abstract: A dampened drawer within a drawer frame includes frame and drawer slide rails cooperating together with the drawer supported in the frame for longitudinal sliding movement of the drawer slide rail with respect of the frame slide rail. A first strip of material is attached to the frame slide rail and a second strip of material is attached to the drawer slide rail with the strips contacting each other in frictional engagement. The frictional engagement is determined so as to prevent longitudinal sliding movement of the drawer slide rail with respect to the frame slide rail when a force less than a predetermined force is applied to the drawer in any position of the drawer with respect to the frame over the entire range of longitudinal sliding movement of the drawer slide rail with respect to the frame slide rail.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 2007Date of Patent: May 24, 2011Inventors: Dennis John Schweers, Martin J. Patent number: 6896102Abstract: An apparatus used in the assembly and structure of tables, benches, sawhorses, and scaffolds. In particular, the invention discloses a U-beam top joint with lumber end gripper used with a U-beam splay bar, which are used in pairs or greater multiples to hold pieces of lumber in the required position to form a structure. The combination can be readily transported to a recreation or construction site and used to assemble a picnic table, bench, sawhorse with lumber fence, bench, scaffold or like structure with available lumber, cut to form the desired height for the structure. The U-beam top joint with lumber end gripper and the U-beam splay bar interact with the lumber legs and cross-beam such that an increase in load on the cross-beam causes a proportional increase in the rigidity and stability of the structure. The U-beam top joint and the U-beam splay bar each have side lumber brackets by which multiple top joints and splay bars can be linked to each other.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 1998Date of Patent: May 24, 2005Inventor: James W. Patent number: 6669106Abstract: A feedstock injector for connection to a source of heated gas comprises a converging channel extending from the upstream end to the downstream end of the injector. A splitting arm extends diagonally within the converging channel, the splitting arm comprising two symmetrically opposed surfaces extending from the inlet to the outlet ends of the converging channel. A feedstock injection passage opens axially at the downstream end of the splitting arm. The gas stream discharged by the injector contacts and entrains the feedstock with improved uniformity.Type: GrantFiled: July 26, 2001Date of Patent: December 30, 2003Assignee: Duran Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Lucian Bogdan Delcea

Patent number: 6506173Abstract: The purpose of my invention of the foot massaging pad is massaging pressure point device. When used on a standard enamel, acrylic plastic fiberglass and heavy porcelain tub a person massaging their pressure points may sit comfortably in a warm bath placing their feet either the left foot or right foot or both which has pressure points distributed over substantially entire front of the pad. The foot massaging pad's holding means are in the form of integral suction cups formed on the back face to maintain the position of the device in use. My invention can be placed and removed after each use.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 2001Date of Patent: January 14, 2003Inventor: Sharon E. Gordon

Patent number: 6500153Abstract: A spinal syringe and needle for preventing the inadvertent injection of an intravenous drug spinally includes a needle engagement extension on the spinal needle defining an opening of a first diameter, a syringe engagement extension on the spinal syringe defining an opening of a second diameter, the syringe engagement extension engageable with the needle engagement extension to operatively connect the needle to the syringe. The first and second diameters are dimensioned such that a surface of the syringe engagement extension is in frictional engagement with a surface of the needle engagement extension, the first diameter is substantially the same as the diameter of an opening defined by the engagement extension of a typical syringe and the second diameter is substantially the same as the diameter of an opening defined by the engagement extension of a typical needle.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 2001Date of Patent: December 31, 2002Assignee: Children's and Women's Health Centre of British ColumbiaInventors: Ian Graham Sheppard, Martin John Forbes, Theresia Trevan Fladl, Ivan Yan-Yip Li, John Hayward Emes, Jeffrey Howard Davis, Kathryn Ann Barbour

Patent number: 6422417Abstract: A cigarette package vending machine for selectively dispensing cigarette packages on actuation by a user includes at least one cigarette package storage and dispensing container. The container includes a storage region for storing a plurality of cigarette packages, a holding region communicating with a storage region to receive the first cigarette package from the plurality in the storage region and an output region communicating with the holding region to receive the first cigarette package from the holding region for dispensing the first cigarette package from the output region to the user. A dispenser is provided which is moveable between a rest position and an open position. The dispenser holds the first cigarette package in the holding region when the dispenser is in the rest position on actuation by a user the dispenser first moves to its open position from its rest position to cause the first cigarette package to move from the holding region to the output region.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 2000Date of Patent: July 23, 2002Assignee: Slim Line Designs Ltd.Inventor: Mark Wayne Rawlins

Patent number: 6392189Abstract: A feedstock injector for connection to a source of heated gas comprises a first plurality of channels arranged symmetrically about a longitudinal axis, the channels leading from the upstream end to an intermediate region of the injector. A second plurality of channels, coaxial with the first plurality of channels and arranged symmetrically about the same longitudinal axis, extend from the outlet ends of the first plurality of channels towards the downstream end of the injector and converge at a convergence angle towards a common region of convergence located downstream on the longitudinal axis. Feedstock material is injected axially towards the common region of convergence.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 2001Date of Patent: May 21, 2002Inventor: Lucian Bogdan Delcea

Patent number: 6202939Abstract: A feedstock injector for connection to a plasmatron or to a fuel combustion chamber comprises a plurality of major channels arranged symmetrically about a core member, the channels leading from the upstream end of the injector towards a downstream region of convergence. In a preferred embodiment of the core member, a plurality of minor channels are provided, each minor channel leading from the inner wall of a major channel towards a minor region of convergence located inside the core. A feedstock-input passage is located axially inside the core, the passage communicating at its upstream end with the minor region of convergence and opening at its lower end through the tip of the core and a feedstock-supply passage opens into the side of the feedstock-input passage. In an alternate preferred embodiment of the core member, a minor channel extends axially from the upstream end to the downstream end of the core and feedstock-supply passage opens into the side of the minor channel.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 1999Date of Patent: March 20, 2001Inventor: Lucian Bogdan Delcea

Patent number: 6114649Abstract: A plasmatron operating efficiently within a wider range of gas flows and capable of sustaining a stable arc voltage. The plasmatron generates an electric arc at the tip of a cathode electrode and transfers the arc along an arc chamber and into the bore of an anode electrode located at the downstream end of the arc chamber. A plurality of arc root attachment surfaces are defined on an inner surface of the anode by a plurality of ring members, causing the electric arc to attach with its root to the arc root attachment surfaces and therefore the axial movement of the arc root is confined substantially to the anode electrode. The arc voltage variations are limited and controlled substantially by the arc root movement between two adjacent arc root attachment surfaces. When used within a plasma-spraying torch, the plasma stream generated by the plasmatron has improved characteristics and induces improved plasma spray coatings.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 1999Date of Patent: September 5, 2000Assignee: Duran Technologies Inc.Inventor: Lucian Bogdan Delcea
