  • Patent number: 5971064
Abstract: The disclosure relates to an improvement in a shell-and-tube heat exchanger particularly intended for products containing fibres (11) or particles. The improvement comprises a product flow insert (5) consisting of a number of heat transfer tubes (3) with a baffle plate (6) fixedly secured in each end (13) of these transfer tubes (3). En order for fibres (11) and particles to pass the baffle plates (6) without undesirably accumulating, at least that one of the baffle plates (6) which is turned to face towards the direction of flow of the product is designed with flow distributors (12) which wholly or partly surround the tube ends (13) of the heat transfer tubes (3).

  • Patent number: 5850973
Abstract: A double barrel sprayer for applying a diluted product such as a diluted cleaning solution to a surface for cleaning thereof and rinsing the diluted product from the surface by spraying a water-only rinse onto the surface. The sprayer can include an insert having passages therein for providing a desired product dilution ratio. To provide different spray patterns for the water-rinse or diluted product, the sprayer can include a shroud having suitably shaped exit holes. The sprayer includes separate flow paths for the water-only rinse and the diluted product. The flow path for the diluted product includes a mixing chamber in which concentrated product is siphoned from a container and mixed with water supplied by a garden hose. Prior to mixing with the water, the concentrated product passes through the insert to provide a substantially constant water/product ratio over a wide range of water pressures.

  • Patent number: 5799876
Abstract: A multiple material spray system and method are provided for applying a spray by a single component spray gun. A first material is fed through a tube injector connected to an external port of the single component spray gun and a conventional fluid section feeds a second material through the single component spray gun without being exposed to the first material. A mixing area is positioned to receive the first and second materials outside of the single component spray gun so that these materials can be externally mixed immediately before applying a spray. The external mixing of the materials permits a spray of high viscosity, low VOC materials with fast gel times of approximately 20 to 40 seconds to be used because gelation in the single component spray gun is prevented by the external mixing. Also, the system and method reduce the number of components so that a more cost-effective process is achieved.

  • Patent number: 5660864
Abstract: By embodying a feed screw (17) for glass fiber reinforced polyester material with a hollow shaft, it is possible for the injection piston (11) for an injection unit (9) to have a compact structure so as to be passed through the feed screw (17). To process even viscous polyester compositions gently, the injection piston can be equipped with a plasticizer screw and an associated plasticizer motor.

  • Patent number: 4878550
Abstract: A down-hole percussion drilling tool supplied with compressed air includes a piston reciprocated in an enclosed cylinder against a bit. A spool is continuously reciprocated in a valve chamber by a pilot fluid pressure supply, tapped from the compressed air from a major air flow passage to either a first or a second feed passage. Compressed air conducted through the first feed passage accelerates the piston toward the bit and compressed air conducted through the second feed passage accelerates the piston away from the bit. The continuous reciprocation of the spool is independent of the position of the piston relative to the cylinder.
