  • Patent number: 4301352
Abstract: Disclosed is a device for surface fusion treatment of artificial stone products. The device comprises anode and cathode assemblies of a plasma generator forming an arc discharge along the plane of the surface to be treated, the anode and cathode assemblies being mounted separately. In the device, the anode and the cathode are made as round rods disposed to each other and rotating about their axes in opposite directions as viewed from the working zone. Arranged between the anode and the cathode is a screen having a gas-permeable bottom to feed a plasma gas therethrough to the working zone, thereby forcing the arc discharge against the surface being treated. The screen is mounted at right angles to the axes of the anode and the cathode and is movable along the axes by a reciprocating-motion drive, the arc discharge moving together with the screen.

  • Patent number: 4299816
Abstract: An acaricidal preparation for diagnosis and control of ectoparasites of bees is proposed including 0.006 to 0.167% by weight of an ester of N-methyl-carbamic acid, acetone being the balance, up to 100% by weight. The acaricidal preparation may also include difluoro dichloromethane and have the following composition, in % by weight:______________________________________ ester of N-methyl-carbamic acid 0.006 to 0.05 acetone 19.994 to 29.95 difluoro dichloromethane 80 to 70. ______________________________________The method of using the proposed acaricidal preparation is as follows: bee colonies are sprayed with the preparation in the form of aerosol at an ambient air temperature of 15.degree. to 30.degree. C., at a rate of 15 to 25 seconds per 50 cubic decimeters, once or up to four times, the interval between each treatment in the latter case being 12 to 24 hours. The proposed acaricidal preparation is a highly effective agent for diagnosis and control of ectoparasites of bees.

  • Patent number: 4300007
Abstract: A method for preparing C.sub.3 -C.sub.4 olefins and vinylaromatic compounds, viz. styrene, vinyltoluenes or vinylxylenes which comprises alkylation of toluene or methyl derivatives thereof with a C.sub.2 -C.sub.3 olefin into the methyl group. The resulting alkylaromatic compounds are subjected to conversion to the desired products in the presence of ethylene on a catalyst consisting of chromium oxide, tungsten oxide and an oxide of an alkali or alkali-earth metal supported by a carrier. The method according to the present invention makes it possible to increase the yield of vinylaromatic compounds, obtain individual isomers of vinyltoluene or vinylxylene and efficiently utilize the part of the alkyl radical of the alkylaromatic compound lost in the prior art method.

  • Patent number: 4295387
Abstract: An apparatus for balancing bodies of revolution, according to the invention, includes distributing units mounted coaxially with a body of revolution in the measurement planes on both sides of the plane passing through the center of mass of the body of revolution perpendicular to the geometric axis thereof. The apparatus also comprises balancing tanks hydraulically connected with a liquid supply source and the distributing units and installed peripherally within the body of revolution in the correction planes on both sides of the plane passing through the center of mass of the body of revolution perpendicular to the geometric axis thereof. Each of the distributing units contains a chamber with conduits, hydraulically connected with the liquid supply source. The ends of the conduits are disposed inside said chamber and are equidistant from the geometric axis thereof.

  • Patent number: 4295867
Abstract: The herein-proposed apparatus for separating carbon black from a carbon-black aerosol stream comprises an apparatus in which a carbon-black aerosol is passed through a granular bed of carbon-black grains in a downflow manner. The carbon-black aerosol is separated into solid carbon-black particles that settle down in the granular bed of the carbon-black grains, and cleaned particulate-free gas delivered to the consumer. Part of said cleaned gas is periodically fed in a countercurrent flow to the stream of carbon-black aerosol to regenerate the granular bed of carbon-black grains. The apparatus for carrying this separation comprises a plurality of compartments, each being subdivided into a first and a second chamber through a partition web. Said partition web is a distribution grate with a screen, whereupon the granular bed of carbon-black grains is arranged, the screen having a mesh opening ranging from about 50 to about 200 microns.

  • Patent number: 4292928
Abstract: A characteristic feature of the invention is that in a plant comprising a plurality of multilevel container cages incorporating the life provision means for the entire period from placing day-old chicks into the cages until the time of completion of their growing, the cages are periodically displaced by a system of pushing conveyers in a sequence defined by the adopted rearing technology. Each container cage has in the upper portion thereof a frame pivotally connected to the cage and operatively connected with a pushing conveyer, the frame providing for rotating the container cage about the horizontal axis of the frame. The rotation is effected with aid of a member comprising a bell crank of which one arm has cage-engaging means, and the other arm is provided with a counterweight.
