  • Patent number: 8016014
Abstract: A combination garage door and roll-up curtain system that allows a flexible curtain to be lowered when the garage door is in a raised position. The system preferably comprises an automated garage door assembly wherein the drive mechanism is mounted to a bracket mounted in turn to the inside wall above the garage opening upper margin. The system preferably further comprises an automated roll-up curtain assembly having a rotatable rod mounted above the garage opening upper margin between the bracket and the inside wall. The rotatable rod has a flexible curtain wound thereabout wherein the first end of the curtain is affixed to the rod and the second end of the curtain is secured along its lateral margins within tracks mounted adjacent the garage opening lateral margins. The second end of the curtain preferably has a weighted member attached thereto to urge the curtain toward the garage opening lower margin and to keep the curtain taut.

  • Patent number: 8006465
Abstract: The invention comprises a storage container preferably having four sides, an open top end, a bottom end having an opening therethrough, and at least two handles preferably located on opposing sides of the container. In use, the storage container is preferably used with water fowl decoys having flexible monofilament lines with looped ends attached thereto. The container is preferably held upside down and the flexible lines of the decoys are passed into the container from underneath and the looped ends are pulled through the opening. The decoys are then pulled into the container. The container is then turned over and the handles are pulled together. The lines of the decoys are pulled over the top end of the container and the looped ends of the lines can be fastened to the handles with a clip. The decoys can then be conveniently transported and stored in the container.

  • Patent number: 7993203
Abstract: A control mechanism adapter for a game console having a circular base with an upper surface, an under surface, and a central opening, wherein the central opening allows a user's finger to rest directly on the control mechanism of a game console. There are legs on the under surface of said base, and attachment elements on the legs to attach the base to a control mechanism of a game console. The base has two raised control elements on the upper surface and on opposing sides of the base. The open center allows the user's thumb to rest on the same standard control geometry that the user is accustomed to using. The user has the option to press against the raised elements, either laterally or with the tip of the thumb. The raised element feature allows the user to manipulate the control lever with less downward muscular force and with improved dexterity.

  • Patent number: 7942190
Abstract: A process for repairing one or more worn inlet ports on an interior or exterior surface of an extruder die wherein each inlet port provides an opening into an extrusion channel. The worn inlet port has a funnel shape and a diameter greater than that of the extrusion channel. The worn inlet port is repaired by placing a fused silicon oxide insert into one or more extrusion channels so that an external surface of the insert engages the interior surface of the extrusion channel, thereby forming a pocket around the insert between the circumference or perimeter of the worn inlet port and the external surface of the insert. The pocket is filled with molten metal, and the insert prevents the molten metal from entering the extrusion channel. When the molten metal hardens the inserts are removed. New inlet ports are thereby formed having the same diameter as the extrusion channels.

  • Patent number: 7901439
Abstract: A method for fusing a spinal facet joint and a surgical kit for use therein. The kit preferably comprises an allograft implant, a facet finder, a drill, a drill guide, and an implant inserter. The method preferably comprises the steps of locating the facet joint with a facet finer, sliding a drill guide over the facet finder until the drill guide engages the facet joint, removing the facet finder from within the drill guide, inserting a drill through the drill guide and drilling a socket within the facet joint to a predetermined depth, removing the drill from within the drill guide, securing an allograft implant within an implant inserter, inserting the implant inserter through the drill guide until the implant engages the socket, tapping the implant inserter to push the implant completely within the socket, removing the implant inserter from within the drill guide, and removing the drill guide.

  • Patent number: 7862292
Abstract: A paddle wheel-driven horizontal wave generator system which is situated on the ocean shore for converting shore waves to unidirectional rotational force for generating power. By the use of a pair of one-way clutches on a single power shaft the incoming and outgoing motion of ocean waves is converted into continuous unidirectional rotational force to drive an electric generator. The generator system is attached to a base having troughs. The lower portions of the paddle wheels are positioned in the troughs, and engage incoming and outgoing shore waves which rotate the axle of the paddle wheels in a clockwise and counterclockwise direction. The one-way clutches convert the bi-directional rotation of the paddle wheel axle to unidirectional rotation of the power shaft.
