  • Patent number: 8245957
Abstract: A swivel nozzle mechanism used with a high pressure fluid washer attaches to an output wand, typically through a flexible hose, to direct a high pressure fluid from the washer to a directed target. The swivel nozzle mechanism attaches to a distal end of the wand and is controllable by a handle mechanism attached to the wand which enables the rotation of a spray nozzle about an axis, normal to the wand axis, at the distal end of the wand. The handle controls the direction of rotation of the spray nozzle and has a plurality of stable operating points resistant to movement and thereby providing for prolonged use at a fixed position.

  • Patent number: 8237540
Abstract: Programmable occupancy sensors that control the on/off operation of a fluorescent lamp automatically determine loss of lamp life as the lamp is used. The programmable occupancy sensors can provide lamp life status and can automatically alert a user when a lamp is nearing its end of life and should be replaced. The occupancy sensors are also programmable to automatically improve lamp life and energy savings by selecting an optimal time delay from among a number of selectable time delays at which to operate the sensor. The selection is based on an occupancy pattern sensed by the sensor over a given period of time. The optimal time delay, which prevents the lamp from turning off immediately after last sensing occupancy, extends lamp life by limiting the number of lamp off/on transitions, which shortens lamp life, in view of overall energy usage and lamp usage.

  • Patent number: 8239687
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and medium are provided for tracing the origin of network transmissions. Connection records are maintained at computer system for storing source and destination addresses. The connection records also maintain a statistical distribution of data corresponding to the data payload being transmitted. The statistical distribution can be compared to that of the connection records in order to identify the sender. The location of the sender can subsequently be determined from the source address stored in the connection record. The process can be repeated multiple times until the location of the original sender has been traced.

  • Patent number: 8208410
Abstract: A media portal is provided that is used to connect multimedia devices to other multimedia devices and content servers. When a call directed to a multimedia device busy in a call with the media portal is received, the media portal can provide a call waiting indication to the busy multimedia device without breaking the connection that is making the device busy. For example, if a first multimedia device is connected through the media portal to a content server providing streaming content of a football match, when a second device attempts to place a call to the first device, the media portal can provide a call waiting alert to the first device as part of, or as a substitute for, the delivery of the football match. Additionally the media portal can provide for the eventual connection of both devices while the previous call is still active.
