Patent number: 4425494Abstract: In electrostatic recording apparatus of the type in which a toner image is applied to a transfer medium such as paper, the transferred image is fixed as by passing the paper between a heated roller and a pressure roller. The present invention temporarily raises the temperature of the heated roller only during the fixing and copying operation to compensate for the heat loss to the paper and pressure roller. Thus proper fixing of the image is assured with a minimum expenditure of energy.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 1981Date of Patent: January 10, 1984Assignee: Konishiroku Photo Industry Co., Ltd.Inventors: Masayuki Enomoto, Kiyoshi Kanai

Patent number: 4423730Abstract: A device and procedure are provided which enable the attachment of a hollow cylindrical atriotomy button to, for example, the atrial appendage. The inventive device, which carries on its end the inner portion of an atriotomy button, is inserted through an incision in the hollow organ. When the device is triggered, the outer portion of the atriotomy button is forced over the inner portion. Sharp points, which are formed on the edge of the inner section, grasp and guide the walls of the incision during the operation of the device so that the walls are effectively clamped between the two button portions. After the button is in place, a cannula can be inserted into the heart through the access button or attached to the outer surface of the outer button portion.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 1982Date of Patent: January 3, 1984Assignee: Shelhigh Inc.Inventor: Shlomo Gabbay

Patent number: 4422631Abstract: A copier machine is provided with two or more paper feeder racks loaded with special recording paper cassettes, cooperating with a paper feeding device. The cassettes may contain paper of respectively different sizes. The paper feeding device is provided with a manual lever which not only selects the desired cassette to be fed but permits accurate and quick loading and unloading of one selected cassette while preventing the feeding of the nonselected cassette or cassettes. The manual lever is locked in its selected position but a sensor provides for unlocking the same and return of the manual lever to a neutral position when a paper feeding rack is completely loaded.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 1981Date of Patent: December 27, 1983Assignee: Konishiroku Photo Industry Co., Ltd.Inventor: Tsugio Sugizaki

Patent number: 4422750Abstract: In an image recording apparatus means such as a spiral screw are provided for feeding toner from a supply hopper to an image developing unit. A plate is mounted within said bin for oscillating movement caused by extensions on said plate engaging the spiral surface of the feeding screw. The plate may be formed with stirring blades, a shaker plate and suitable openings therethrough for continuously agitating the toner as it is being fed to brake up clumps which may be formed and to prevent toner caking.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 1982Date of Patent: December 27, 1983Assignee: Konishiroku Photo Industry Co., Ltd.Inventor: Shun Kawata

Patent number: 4420680Abstract: The fixing means for an electrostatic recording apparatus comprises a pair of revolving rollers in pressure contact with one another, of which at least one roller may be a heating roller, and in which each roller is a deformable thin cylinder supported for rotation at its ends by a resilient deformable end piece. The two revolving rollers are urged against one another by a pair of aligned pressure rollers extending along substantially the entire length of the revolving rollers and between them exerting a pressure against said revolving rollers in a direction perpendicular to the axes thereof. The result is to provide between the two revolving rollers a constant elastically deformable and restorable nip across the entire length of said revolving rollers. Because of this construction and the close contact between the rollers, their surface temperature can be quickly raised, a uniform nipping width is maintained, and no permanent roller deformation results.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 1982Date of Patent: December 13, 1983Assignee: Konishiroku Photo Industry Co., Ltd.Inventor: Takashi Itoh

Patent number: 4411100Abstract: A steering mechanism suitable for use in a running toy such as an automobile toy is proposed. The steering mechanism includes a supporting housing mounted on a chassis portion of the toy for free rotation to the left and right. The supporting housing movably carries a pair of assemblies each including a substantially U-shaped soft magnetic member and a coil wound round a suitable portion of each soft magnetic member. The supporting housing also carries rotatably two separate parts of the tire wheel shaft at such a position that these parts of the tire wheel shaft can magnetically attract and be contacted simultaneously by both ends of the respective U-shaped soft magnetic member when the associated coil is energized. When the coil is energized, the soft magnetic member is magnetically attracted and contacted at its both ends by the associated part of the tire wheel shaft to brake the latter.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 1981Date of Patent: October 25, 1983Inventor: Yoshio Suimon

Patent number: 4411977Abstract: An intermediate transfer body for a transfer type recording apparatus which comprises a substrate consisting of a thermoplastic resin layer and a thermosetting resin layer, wherein said body further comprises an intermediate transfer layer can be added to the intermediate transfer body. The intermediate transfer body consists of an elastic material, such as a fluoro-carbon rubber or a silicone rubber.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 1982Date of Patent: October 25, 1983Assignee: Konishiroku Photo Industry Co., Ltd.Inventors: Noriyoshi Tarumi, Kiyoshi Kimura, Tadashi Miwa

Patent number: 4403771Abstract: In a copying apparatus equipped with a sorter having a bin unit slidably mounted on the main frame and driven up and down by a vertically supported feed screw, heavy loading of the bin with multiple copies throws the same off balance resulting in strain on the feed screw unit and producing unwanted vibrations. By connecting the bin to the feed screw through an elastically supported nut and positively slidably guiding the movement of the nut in a vertical guide parallel to the feed screw, unwanted vibrations and strains on the feed screw connection are avoided.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 1981Date of Patent: September 13, 1983Assignee: Konishiroku Photo Industry Co., Ltd.Inventors: Junkichi Kasahara, Mitsuyoshi Nagashita, Hiroyuki Honda

Patent number: 4403788Abstract: A ski brake comprising two pivotal arms having intermediate elbowed portions pivotally mounted in fixed bearings about an axis transverse to the ski, an operating pedal and a spring for restoring the pivotal arms to their braking position. A flexible and resilient metallic strip provides a connection between the control ends of the braking arms, is secured to an operating pedal actuated by the ski boot and is subjected to the action of a restoring spring and traction member. The ends of the resilient strip are fixed in cylindrical sleeves which are rotatably mounted on the control ends. When a boot is in position within the safety ski binding and the ski brake is therefore in a standby position of withdrawal above the ski, the resilient strip has a flat configuration and is located in practically the same plane as the traction member, thus preventing the appearance of a parasitic stress which would otherwise be liable to interfere with the operation of the ski binding.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 1981Date of Patent: September 13, 1983Assignee: STE LookInventors: Jean Bernard, Jean Beyl, Christian Campillo, Rene Guerreau, Daniel Le Faou, Henri Peyre

Patent number: 4402510Abstract: A puzzle toy is provided in which a game may be played to achieve a desired combination of colors by shifting several puzzle elements arranged checkerwise in the lengthwise and the breadthwise directions. The puzzle toy includes a plurality of polarizing plates fixed to a case and individual polarizing plates fixed to the individual puzzle elements. Color indication of the puzzle elements is varied with the change of the relative relationship of the polarizing axis of the individual polarizing plates to that of the first polarizing plates, due to the transparency indication action and the polarizing color indication action which result from the principle of double refraction polarization.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 1982Date of Patent: September 6, 1983Assignee: Nintendo Co., Ltd.Inventor: Gunpei Yokoi
