Abstract: A serving cart, including a wheel mounted housing, is provided with a serving top having a series of openings therethrough for the selective projection of bottles and the like carried by an internal shelf. The shelf is power driven so as to selectively raise and lower relative to the top. A pair of leaves are hinged to opposite sides of the top and selectively overlie the top or project laterally outward therefrom.

Abstract: A fishing rod holder device for a boat comprising a body which extends from gunwale to gunwale of the boat and has legs for removably mounting said body to the gunwales and including a plurality of fishing rod holders angularly attached to said body with clamping means in the rod holders for selectively securing the fishing rods in place.

Abstract: An expandable shaft for the mounting of cores, working tools, and the like comprising a perforated metal shell with an internal elastomeric liner positioned therein and in intimate contact with the interior thereof, portions of the liner extending into the shell perforations and extending to the outer surface of the shell to provide a smooth surface therewith. Both the liner and shell are expandable upon the generation of internal pressure for a combined engagement with and frictional locking of a working tool or the like mounted thereon.

Abstract: An elevator safety construction in which detent means is provided to block any elevator from falling more than one floor in free fall from such accidents as breakage of the supporting lift cables of the elevator in its shaft. Each floor of the building has its own safety blocking brace normally extending into the path of the descending elevator to block its path therepast. Timing mechanism times the speed of the elevator car and as long as it is lower than the predetermined car descent speed, each of the successive blocking braces is withdrawn, allowing the car to descend successively past each brace. If, however, the descent speed of the car is excessive, then lower braces are not withdrawn and the car cannot move past them, thus blocking crashes and injuries or fatalities to occupants.

Abstract: A mechanism is provided for the positioning of an implement attached to a small garden tractor which includes a power takeoff system from the engine of the tractor connected to a device that controls a power drive mechanism attached to a positioning linkage that connects with the conventional manual lifting system for such tractors.
