Abstract: The invention relates to safety razors having a blade unit carried on a handle that includes a vibration mechanism and a control device for controlling operation of the vibration mechanism, the control device being connected to an electrode arrangement that can comprise a blade and an electrically conductive casing of the handle, to detect water so that the vibration mechanism is activated in response to the blade unit being immersed into a body of water for rinsing.
Abstract: A primary cell having an anode comprising lithium and a cathode comprising iron disulfide (FeS2) and carbon particles. The electrolyte comprises a lithium salt dissolved in a nonaqueous solvent mixture which contains an additive, preferably iodine, suppressing voltage delay. A cathode slurry is prepared comprising iron disulfide powder, carbon, binder, and liquid solvent. The mixture is coated onto a conductive substrate and solvent evaporated leaving a dry cathode coating on the substrate. The anode and cathode can be spirally wound with separator therebetween and inserted into the cell casing with electrolyte then added.

Abstract: A safety razor blade unit mounted for pivotal movement relative to a razor handle is biased to a normal rest position by a magnetic return force generated by a pair of magnetic that are so disposed that the return force increases as the pivotal displacement of the blade unit from the rest position increases.
Abstract: An absorbent article has a chassis assembly with a front region, a rear region, a crotch region disposed between the front and rear region, and a pair of longitudinal edges. A chamber is positioned adjacent to each longitudinal edge and extends from the front region to the rear region with each chamber being substantially enclosed. Drawstring members extend through each of the chambers and exit the chassis assembly from an opening in the rear region. A waist fit member extends across the rear region and is connected to a portion of the drawstring member. The drawstring members are substantially unattached to their respective chambers such that a more secure fit is provided about the legs and the waist of the wearer upon tensioning of the drawstring members.

Abstract: A contact-less, optical method of measuring strain on a skin surface of a human test subject during shaving. Digital cameras record the deflection of a pattern applied to the skin as a series of digital images. Comparison of the deflected skin position under applied forces compared to an undeflected reference condition permits calculation of the strain in the skin. Strains in the skin are averaged over several positions of the razor blade unit during a stroke. Objective comparisons can be made between razors based on the strain data.

Abstract: A pant-type disposable garment having a waist opening and a pair of leg openings is disclosed. The garment comprises a first waist panel, a second waist panel and a crotch panel positioned between, the first waist panel and the second waist panel. The crotch panel is openable and reclosable with respect to at least the second waist panel. The garment further comprises a releasable joint and a fastening member. The releasable joint releasably joins the crotch panel to the second waist panel to preform a pant shape. The releasable joint is released to first open the crotch panel. The fastening member is capable of refastening the crotch panel to the second waist panel to reform the pant shape after the releasable joint is released.
