  • Patent number: 7869681
Abstract: An optical connection closure has at least one connector port located within an external wall of the closure for receiving a connectorized optical fiber of a distribution cable on the inside of the closure and a pre-connectorized fiber optic drop cable on the outside of the closure. The closure includes a base, a cover affixed to the base and movable between a closed position and an opened position, and an end wall that defines at least a portion of at least one cable opening for receiving the distribution cable in a butt-type or a through-type closure configuration. The base and the cover define an interior cavity that optionally contains a splice tray for interconnecting the optical fiber of the distribution cable with a pigtail to create the connectorized optical fiber. The connector port may be located within an end wall, a bottom wall or a top wall of the closure.

  • Patent number: 7809231
Abstract: An apparatus for processing at least one optical waveguide comprises a base and a movable part, the movable part being movable with respect to the base. The apparatus comprises a lever, the lever being attached to the base and comprising a notch for holding a cleaved-off part of the at least one optical waveguide. The apparatus comprises a link, one end of which is adapted to be coupled to the lever and an other end of which coupled to the movable part. The cleaved-off part is moved transversely with respect to the longitudinal direction of the at least one optical waveguide by the lever in response to a movement of the movable part.

  • Patent number: 7787614
Abstract: Methodologies and structure are provided for use in a communications line that transmit data without plain old telephone service (POTS), or splits the POTS service from the data service, to inhibit oxidation of electrical connections within the physical communications line between the central office of a service provider and a subscriber premises and/or subscriber equipment. A direct current load is drawn by a sealing current terminator circuit that is electrically coupled across the communications line at a convenient location proximate or within the subscriber's location so as to assist in providing oxidation reducing direct current flow along a portion of the communications loop coupling the service provider with the subscriber.

  • Patent number: 7783152
Abstract: An apparatus for restraining fiber optic cables in the region of a sealing body of a cable sleeve, namely within an interior delimited by the cable sleeve is disclosed. The apparatus has a fitting part which is capable of being fastened on the sealing body of the cable sleeve, and which has a plurality of slide parts acting on the fitting part. Each slide part is used for individually restraining a single fiber optic cable and is capable of being moved in terms of its position relative to the fitting part within predetermined limits for the purpose of matching said slide part to a cable diameter of the respective fiber optic cable to be restrained.

  • Patent number: 7737361
Abstract: A sealant gel for a telecommunication enclosure, wherein the gel is formulated from three different polyols. The first polyol is a polybutadiene-based polyol that has a low glass transition temperature. The second polyol is a polyether polyol. The third polyol is butene diol, which is a short molecule that quickly builds up a hard backbone structure.
