  • Patent number: 8166783
Abstract: A pin tumbler cylinder lock includes a shell, a plug, and at least first and second tumbler pins and first and second driver pins. At least the first driver pin extends into a corresponding plug channel when the plug is in a locked condition, such that rotation of the plug with respect to the shell is blocked. The lock is configured such that at least the first driver pin is separated from the first tumbler pin by a gap when the plug is in the locked condition. When the first and second tumbler pins are raised without the proper key and the gap between the first tumbler pin and the first driver pin is eliminated, the second tumbler pin extends across the shear line and into the corresponding shell channel.

  • Patent number: 8167517
Abstract: A pump for particulate material includes a pump chamber wherein material flows into the pump chamber under negative pressure and flows out of the pump chamber under positive pressure. A plurality of pinch valves are provided to control flow of material into and out of the pump chamber. The pinch valves are operated independent of each other and of the pump cycle rate. A modular design of the pump is provided. A pump control feature is provided for air flow rate control during positive and negative pressure conditions.

  • Patent number: 8170770
Abstract: In one embodiment, a vehicle speed control device includes an electronic control unit (ECU). A forward vehicle sensor, electrically communicating with the ECU, generates a forward vehicle signal as a function of whether a forward vehicle is detected. The forward vehicle signal indicates a speed and a distance to the forward vehicle. A speed sensor, electrically communicating with the ECU, senses a driven vehicle speed. Control logic, electrically communicating with the ECU and the forward vehicle sensor, controls the driven vehicle speed as a function of a driven vehicle acceleration and the forward vehicle signal. The control logic sets a fault status as a function of the driven vehicle acceleration and the forward vehicle signal.

  • Patent number: 8163664
Abstract: Glass fiber products used to reduce the flammability of mattresses and upholstery are provided. In one embodiment, a veil formed of glass fibers, comfort enhancing fibers, and optionally a combination of synthetic fibers is positioned on the bottom of a mattress to provide fire resistance or prevention. The binder composition used to form the veil may include a binder with a low glass transition temperature and a flame retardant additive. In a second embodiment, a glass veil is utilized in a fire retarding composite formed of an encapsulating layer, a fire retarding veil, and a backing layer. Preferably, all of the fibers in the veil are glass fibers. The fire retarding composite is positioned on the mattress with the encapsulating layer against the cushioning material, the backing layer facing externally, and the veil sandwiched between the encapsulating layer and the backing layer. A fire retarding insulation product is also provided.

  • Patent number: 8156963
Abstract: A faucet includes a spout body formed by joining an upper body and a lower body to one another. A one-piece spout tube is secured to the upper body. For example, only a cartridge seat and an aerator of the faucet are used to hold the spout tube in the upper body. Water supply hoses connected to the cartridge seat bring hot and/or cold water from a water supply source to a valve cartridge interfaced with the cartridge seat. The water flows from the water supply source, through the water supply hoses, the cartridge seat, the valve cartridge, and the spout tube, and out the spout body through the aerator. The valve cartridge allows a user to control a flow rate and/or temperature of the water delivered through the spout tube and out the spout body.

  • Patent number: 8156874
Abstract: The rail mounted displaceable device is a ceiling mounted hoist comprising two pairs of carrying wheels (2) arranged to run in the rail (1) and two motion wheels (4) actuated by a motor (7). The motion wheels (4) are rotatably fixed on a hinged bracket (5) which is pivotably connected via a hinge (6) to a chassis (3). The displaceable device is provided with an actionable solenoid (8) for pressing said transport wheels (4) against the rail (1) in order to allow a displacement of the device along the rail (1) when the motor (7) is activated and to allow the carrying wheels (2) to rotate freely along the rail (1) when said motor (7) is deactivated.
