Abstract: A method for dismantling pallets includes hanging a pallet on the upstream end of a cantilevered support having a substantially horizontal top surface with the bottom surfaces of the upper deck boards of the pallet resting on the top surface of the cantilevered support and with the stringer boards and lower deck boards extending downwardly from the top surface, advancing the hanging pallet in a downstream direction along the cantilevered support toward a band saw blade which lies directly on the top surface of the cantilevered support and defines a cutting plane aligned with the top surface of the cantilevered support, thereby automatically aligning the band saw blade with the pallet joints between the upper deck boards and the stringer boards; and advancing the pallet past the band saw blade to separate the upper deck boards from the stringer boards at the pallet joints.

Abstract: An articulator that can be recalibrated easily in the field. The articulator has left and right condyle elements that resemble barbells, with an inner sphere, an outer sphere, and a shaft connecting the inner and outer spheres together. In the preferred embodiment, the outer spheres are releasably fixed to the lower frame member by clamping members, and the inner spheres are pivotably mounted to the upper frame member. To calibrate the articulator, the clamping members are loosened, an alignment fixture is installed to ensure that the articulator is in proper alignment, and then the clamping members are tightened into position, fixing the outer spheres in the properly-aligned position.

Abstract: The present invention, a hermetically sealed picture frame, comprises a frame, a lens and a seal wherein the seal is an elastomeric seal, preferrably an elastomeric o-ring seal. The frame comprises a lens locking groove, a seal groove and mounting framework. The lens snaps into the lens locking groove, compressing the seal in the seal groove between the lens and the frame, providing a hermetic seal for a picture contained between the lens and the frame. The mounting framework is slideable over a mounting base that can be attached to a surface.

Abstract: A sulky for transportation of an operator, attachable to a self-propelled vehicle, defines pivot axes, one of which is selectively lockable in order to preclude yaw motion. The sulky also includes caster wheels which are selectively lockable to permit or preclude free castering of said wheels. It also provides stops at the pivot axes for limiting the amount of pivot.

Abstract: A greeting card or keepsake card includes a formed, raised image, and it includes panels which protect the front and rear of the formed, raised image. In a preferred embodiment, the front panel of the card also includes an opening through which one can see the raised image when the card is closed, and the front panel includes a pocket on its inside surface for receiving a compact disk or other flat member. Also in a preferred embodiment, the formed, raised image is surrounded by a raised frame, and the raised image panel defines a flat rear perimeter.

Abstract: A conveyor system is provided, in which the drive chain which drives products along the conveyor has features that permit control of the threshold driving force that will be reached before the chain's carrier rollers begin to rotate to permit accumulation of product on the conveyor. The threshold driving force is controlled by friction members which are located between split portions of the carrier rollers and by the angle of the outer surface of the carrier rollers. The steeper the angle, the greater the threshold force.

Abstract: A conveyor chain is made up of carrier links and connector links connected together by non-cylindrical pins. The non-cylindrical pins abut corresponding non-arcuate surfaces of the connector links, which prevents rotation of the pins relative to the connector links. Also, the non-cylindrical pins fit into non-cylindrical holes defined by the carrier links, which limit rotation of the pins relative to the carrier links.

Abstract: A measuring tool which allows for a quick, accurate determination of the appropriate position to hang a hook or similar hanger on a wall for supporting a picture or similar object. The tool includes horizontal and vertical legs and a sliding member that moves along the vertical leg. When the horizontal leg is positioned adjacent the top edge of an object, the sliding member may be moved to pinpoint the vertical location of the hanging mechanism relative to the top edge of the object.

Abstract: A rotary damper includes a housing and a vane. There is an indentation in the housing which permits fluid to flow readily from one side of the vane to the other during part of the rotary stroke. At the end of the rotary stroke, there is an alternative path for fluid to take from one side of the vane to the other, and this path preferably includes an adjustable aperture so the amount of damping at the end of the stroke can be adjusted.
