  • Patent number: 7995243
Abstract: The invention distinguishes not only character areas and halftone dot areas in an image, but also makes highly accurate decisions concerning characters present in halftone dot areas. A decision signal generating unit generates a decision signal having luminance as a main component from a signal indicating inputted image data, and supplies the decision signal to a character decision unit, a halftone dot decision unit, and a character-in-halftone dot decision unit. The character decision unit generates data indicating whether a pixel of interest is inside a character image area. The halftone dot decision unit generates data indicating whether a pixel of interest is inside a halftone dot area. The character-in-halftone dot decision unit generates data indicating whether there is a character image inside the halftone dot area. Based on these three signals, an attribute flag generating unit generates attribute data of the pixel of interest.

  • Patent number: 7991114
Abstract: An X-ray imaging apparatus includes a multi X-ray source which includes a plurality of X-ray focuses to generate X-rays by irradiating X-ray targets with electron beams, a detector which detects X-rays which have been emitted from the multi X-ray source and have reached a detection surface, and a moving mechanism for moving the multi X-ray source within a plane facing the detection surface. The X-ray imaging apparatus acquires a plurality of X-ray detection signals from the detector by causing the multi X-ray source to perform X-ray irradiation while shifting the positions of a plurality of X-ray focuses which the detector has relative to the detection surface by moving the multi X-ray source using the moving mechanism. The apparatus then generates an X-ray projection image based on the plurality of X-ray detection signals acquired by the detector.

  • Patent number: 7986361
Abstract: Interpolated image data is generated from image-sensing data according to the color characteristic of an object. A color filter that has a strong correlation with the color characteristic of an object in image-sensing data captured by an image sensing device having a color filter array in which filters of a plurality of colors are arranged is determined. Interpolated image data of a color component corresponding to the determined color filter is generated by using the pixel values of the image-sensing data corresponding to the color filter. Interpolated image data of the color component corresponding to each of color filters different from the determined color filter is generated by using the generated interpolated image data and the pixel values of the image-sensing data corresponding to each of the color filters different from the determined color filter.
