  • Patent number: 4217984
Abstract: A box for storing and dispensing food-stuff distributed upon a foil band and wound to a spool upon a shaft comprises two like components, each defined by a base plate and three adjoining walls. Each wall is provided with an open slot starting from the edge of the pertaining wall remote from the base plate and extending about half-way down towards the latter, whereby the two components become sufficiently deformable to permit a fitting together, to form either a closed box, or a stand presenting an open front for serving-out purposes. The slots in two oppositely located walls are formed to carry the ends of the shaft and the slot in the intermediate wall preferably is deeper than the slots in the first mentioned walls.A box of this type may be fitted in an apparatus having a rotatable drum for coiling up the wasted foil band, as this is pulled out of the spool, to make the food-stuff available.

  • Patent number: 4216888
Abstract: In an installation comprising a chain of rods from which woven material in strip form is suspended in folds, the discharge of hot air or steam through a blowing nozzle is subjected to the cyclic action of a regulating device for progressively reducing the nozzle discharge from a predetermined maximum value during commencement of formation of a fold to a zero value after only a fraction of the time required for complete formation has elapsed. The installation is primarily intended for use in steaming machines.

  • Patent number: 4213576
Abstract: A device for maintaining a tensioning in an elongate strip of plastics, when transferring the latter from one station to an other, located to opposite sides of a machine distributing slices of foodstuff upon the strip, includes, at the first station, a dispensing device arranged in conjunction to a strip storage roller, and provided with a pivotably suspended, motor-driven feed roller cooperating with a pinch roller. The second station comprises a shaft adapted to carry at least one tubular core for receiving the strip and is driven by a motor by way of a slipping clutch, which permits a somewhat higher speed than that of the feed roller at the first station. The shaft is preferably designed to carry two tubular cores, and extends cantileverwise from a bearing device. A hub receiving an inward core encloses and carries, together with a driving pinion, part of the shaft, the pinion being mounted upon a trunnion which, in turn, is journalled in the bearing device.

  • Patent number: 4204418
Abstract: A machine and method whereby a metallic stick is pressed into a mold which is moved along two axes substantially perpendicularly to the stick so as to make the end of the stick follow the mold while it is softened by heat produced by passage of an electric current between the mold and the stick, the stick only being moved in its axial direction while the mold is only moved in the two substantially perpendicular directions to this axial direction.

  • Patent number: 4201536
Abstract: A vibration responsive mechanism having a weight suspension rod pendulum which falls in response to the vibration of a base body. The mechanism comprises a responsive disc secured to said rod normally and coaxially and support balls which contact with and bear against the periphery of the disc, individual set of radial guide races having a biasing means biasing the supporting balls in a centripetal direction and a circular opening through which the responsive disc can pass in a vertical direction and a guide skirt being flared from the inner periphery of a circular opening. This mechanism can be actuated in response not only to horizontal vibration but also to vertical vibration.

  • Patent number: 4196537
Abstract: An advantageous and improved construction is provided for a line guiding ring for fishing rods comprising a guide ring a shock ring and a fixed ring, in which a collar is formed on the outer periphery of the upper edge of the shock ring and a seat is formed on the inner periphery of the lower edge thereof. Such a construction renders it possible to lock the guide ring to the shock ring with the seat and the shock ring to the fixed ring with the collar, thereby locking the guide ring to the fixed ring is greatly improved against a one directional force exerted upon the guide ring.

  • Patent number: 4195514
Abstract: When analyzing exhaust gases from vehicle internal combustion engines according to the simplified method, where the inertia and the internal losses of the engine are used as braking factors and the engine, during a given period of time, is subjected to a series of short incidents of fuel supply increases above idling speed level, it is important to ensure that all play is eliminated in the transmission path between the monitoring unit determining the fuel increase incidents and the fuel supply means. The fuel supply increase incidents should furthermore be selected so with respect to resulting changes in effective mean pressure (PME) and speed (RPM), that the fuel supply means, during each incident, will be displaced in a positive direction only, until the engine returns to the idling speed level.

  • Patent number: 4194612
Abstract: A vending machine having a number of separate compartments, each blocked by a rotatable member has a control mechanism, which includes a member insertable in an opening. The proper member will release the blocking members and further includes a portion, where pin stamps operable by the rotation of the blocking members will put a mark. The control portion is formed like a body having transverse bores, each housing an axially displaceable stud, which is operable by a specific pin stamp, and is retainable in either of two axial positions.

  • Patent number: 4188813
Abstract: A part such as a long concrete drill provided initially with rectilinear splines is heated in successive zones while producing a controlled increase in the distance between the two extremities. The part to be formed is thus subjected to controlled plastic elongation while the two extremities are driven in rotation at different speeds in order to subject the splined portion to a twisting effort and thus to convert the rectilinear splines to helical splines.

  • Patent number: 4183209
Abstract: In a gas turbine power plant including a separate power turbine, a guide apparatus located downstream of the power turbine rotor will have to cope with gas flows varying considerably with respect to velocity and inlet direction. To provide improved flow handling properties the individual vanes of the guide apparatus are divided, and comprise a stationary portion extending over the full axial depth of the vane, and a smaller portion, including part of the thicker nose of the vane only. This smaller portion is displaceable in relation to the stationary portion, so the vane, when its portions are brought together, presents a rounded front edge, and, in the displaced position of the portions, presents a sharp front edge.
