Abstract: Compositions which are particulate water insoluble and nondispersible salts of certain surface active sulfate or sulfonate anions and surface active quaternary ammonium cations are described. They are useful as wash cycle laundry softener-antistatic compositions, in both liquid and powdered laundry products and also dispersed in solid matrices. The particle size is from 50 to 500 microns.
Abstract: Organometallic compounds of high carbanion yield are prepared by metallation with barium, strontium or calcium or mixture of the same of certain acidic organic compounds having a pKa value of between about 15 and 35 on the MSAD scale in the presence of aprotic polar solvents, e.g., barium reacted with xanthene in 1,2-dimethoxyethane to yield dixanthenyl barium. Such organometallic compounds formed by metal-hydrogen exchange reaction are useful in initiating anionic growth-type polymerization of monomers, e.g., alkylene oxides and vinyl compounds, to form homopolymers and copolymers. The persistence of polymer carbanions created by such catalysts makes possible the controlled preparation of a variety of polymers, including block copolymers.

Abstract: A method of preparing synthetic resin film having high writability and printability which comprises the steps of (I) carrying out reaction by either of the following two processes:The process A of reacting together1. alicyclic polybasic acid or anhydrides thereof, (2) polypoxides containing at least two epoxy groups and (3) a compound selected from the group consisting of (a) unsaturated monobasic acid, (b) glycidyl compounds containing a radical polymerizable unsaturated bond and (c) unsaturated polybasic acid. The process B of reacting together1.
Abstract: A solution for chemical dissolution treatment (for example, pickling, etching, chemical milling, chemical polishing or leaching) of tin or its alloys which comprises an aqueous solution of an acid, an oxidizing agent and 0.001 to 10 mole/l of at least one inorganic compound selected from the group consisting of fluorides, inorganic fluoric complex salts, titanium salts, trivalent chromium salts, iron salts, antimony salts and vanadium salts.
Abstract: A method of manufacturing foamed moldings having a compartment-structure therein, the average wall thickness of all compartments being at least 0.1 mm, which comprises heating an aggregate of foamable materials, each comprising a layer of plastics or rubber, capable of forming the said compartment wall whereby the foamed materials are bonded with one another at the layer thereof to form an integrated foamed molding.
