  • Patent number: 7938159
Abstract: A bow taper having a clamping and cut-off station wherein the tape is pulled from a clamping and cut-off station to an extended position to provide a length of tape extending between said clamping and cut-off station to said extended position, and is clamped via a clamp in the station so that when the tape is applied to a case positioned to be taped by said taper on a leading corner of the case that is adjacent to said extended position tension is applied to a free span of tape between the leading corner and the clamp, cutting off tape adjacent to said clamping and cut-off station to leave a free end and releasing said clamp from clamping said tape.

  • Patent number: 4884272
Abstract: A communication system utilizing a plurality of receiving antenna which receive digital signals and process all of the received signals in the same trellis type decoder. Hamming weights are applied to each of the signals in accordance with the Viterbi algorithm with only the minimum Hamming weight for any one state transition path between any two levels in the trellis being retained. At the intersection of any two paths in the trellis, the path with the minimum Hamming weight is retained and the other path is discarded.

  • Patent number: 4882765
Abstract: Data is transmitted from a mobile or a base station to a booster or repeater station which, if it identifies that the same message has been retransmitted a preset number of times by the mobile or base station it automatically retransmits the data. The number of times a message has been retransmitted may be coded on each message or determined by comparing the retransmitted messages with a previously sent message that will have been stored in memory by the repeater and when the message in memory and retransmitted message are the same, registering another transmission of the message until the preset number is registered and then retransmitting the message preferrably from memory. In another arrangement the relay station receives and stores or otherwise identifies data from the mobile or base and listens for an acknowledgement from the receiving station, if no acknowledgement is received within a preset period of time the message is automatically retransmitted by the relay station.

  • Patent number: 4432185
Abstract: A pellet wrapper adapted to wrap a pallet with a web material comprises, an anvil member movable into position against the side of the pallet, a clamp movable with the anvil and adapted to hold the end of the web with which the pallet is to be wrapped. With the clamp and anvil so positioned adjacent the pallet, the wrapping of the pallet is begun. After the web has wrapped around the pallet at least sufficient turns so that the web overlies the end retained in the clamp and secures this end portion against the side of the pallet, the clamp is then released and retracted and the wrapping of the pallet completed to wrap the pallet and then back to overlapping the layer of web material initially applied to the pallet while forming said web in about the last 11/4 turns into roped form.
