  • Patent number: 7052569
Abstract: The present invention discloses a process for producing a high-quality insulation for conductors or conductor bundles of electrical machines by means of spray-sintering. Unlike in the prior art, it is possible to apply internal corona-discharge protection, insulation and external corona-discharge protection to conductors or conductor bundles in which, on account of a very low level of defects in the insulation and its inherent resistance to partial discharges, it is possible to dispense with the use of winding processes using glass/mica tapes. This eliminates the need to use complex special equipment and allows the throughput times to be shortened considerably.

  • Patent number: 7048508
Abstract: A rotor end piece (1) for rotors (2) of thermal turbormachines is provided with circumferential slot (3), including two end piece halves (4, 4?) having side faces (5, 5?) opposite one another in the installed state and top surfaces (6, 6?) adjoining one another. The rotor end piece (1) side faces (5, 5?) of the end piece halves (4,4?) are connected to one another in a form-fitting manner. To this end, the side faces (5, 5?) are designed in such a way that a dovetail interlocking connection of the two end piece halves (4, 4?) is preferably realized. The interlocked end piece halves are then secured with a weld (8). The firm anchoring of the rotor end piece (1) achieved in this way prevents detachment during operation and damage to the turbomachine caused as a result.

  • Patent number: 7045918
Abstract: An apparatus and method for suspending a stator core (100) in an electric generator upon a foundation (206), where two natural modes of vibration, including known second and third modes, are excited in the core, each mode having four loops and four nodes displaced 45 degrees between the second and third modes. A non-rigid connection (212) connects a yoke to the foundation, and two connection members connect the yoke to the stator core at opposite sides of the non-rigid connection. The two connection points (210a,b) are located at adjacent loops of one of the second and third vibration modes. By this arrangement, radial deflections of the stator core at the respective connection points are transferred into a rocking movement of the yoke around the non-rigid connection. Thereby, vibrations transferred to the foundation are considerably reduced during operation.

  • Patent number: 7019334
Abstract: Whereas incandescent light bulbs and other similar light sources known in the prior art emit light in all directions, LED lamps emit light in a single direction only, and this is manifested in the problem of being unable to achieve light distribution characteristics satisfied by conventional headlamp designs. The present invention realizes an LED lamp for a light source of a headlamp disposing an LED chip 2 in the vicinity of the focus of a projection means and providing a shielding member 7 covering a portion of the LED chip 2 in a formation allowing a light distribution characteristic suitable for a vehicle front-illumination light to be obtained when light from the LED chip 2 is magnified and projected in an illumination direction by a projection lens 10 or the like constituting the projection means; accordingly, accurate light distribution characteristics can be obtained in a simple manner by projecting in the illumination direction using the projection lens 10.
