  • Patent number: 7465889
Abstract: According to the present invention, there is provided a pushbutton switch cover sheet providing a unique design. A pushbutton switch cover sheet is provided with an operation plate of metal or hard resin having dividing grooves defining depressing operation members capable of displacement through depression. Therefore, there is no need to provide the casing of the apparatus with a frame defining key tops, making it possible to impart a novel design to the apparatus. The operation plate is formed as a thin plate, so it is possible to reduce a thickness of the apparatus as a whole. Further, the dividing grooves are provided with in-groove protrusions protruding into the dividing grooves and groove filling members fixed to the groove inner side surfaces and formed of a rubber-like elastic material, thereby making it possible to provide a pushbutton switch cover sheet of a high level of safety in which there is no fear of fingers being injured by the dividing grooves.

  • Patent number: 7464551
Abstract: A storage power station (S), for example an air storage plant, that includes a compressor unit (V), a turbine unit (T) and a storage volume (100) can be operated using a specific method of operation, which allows as fast a reaction as possible to changes in the load demands. Rapid changes in the load demands can be satisfied by controlling the power consumption of the compressor unit (V), which results in a variable net power output, with the power output from the turbine unit (T) remaining constant. The power of the compressor unit can be controlled approximately one order of magnitude more quickly than the power generation machine can be controlled. In the extreme, the compressor unit can simply be shut down, thus resulting in its drive power becoming available to an electricity grid within seconds. During this process, the turbine unit can continue to operate normally, and can slowly follow the power demand, thus reducing the load on the turbine.

  • Patent number: 7458772
Abstract: A guide vane ring of a turbomachine, in particular of an axial-throughflow turbine, includes a vane group (6) having a plurality of vanes (2). The vane group (6) has a vane root (11) which has two flanges (12, 13). The vane group (6) is fastened to a vane carrier by means of the flanges (12, 13). In order to reduce stresses in the vanes (2) which occur during deformations of the vane carrier, one flange (13) has on a front end portion (14) and on a rear end portion (15), radially on the inside and radially on the outside, in each case a contact zone (18) which bears against the vane carrier. The other flange (12) has on one end portion (15), radially on the inside, a contact zone (18) which bears against the vane carrier, and is spaced apart from the vane carrier radially on the outside. Moreover, this flange (12) has on the other end portion (14), radially on the outside, a contact zone (18) which bears against the vane carrier, and is spaced apart from the vane carrier radially on the inside.

  • Patent number: 7457710
Abstract: A sensor 11 detects the acoustic pressure at a first location in a combustion chamber 7 of a test rig 1 and produces an input signal which is a function of the acoustic pressure. A controller 13 receives the input signal and produces an output signal which is a function of the input signal. An acoustic actuator (16-18) receives the output signal and introduces into the combustion chamber 7 at a second location an acoustic pressure which is a function of the output signal. The acoustic actuator may comprise a fuel injector 18 or a loudspeaker. By using an appropriate control algorithm, acoustic boundary conditions corresponding to a particular gas turbine combustion chamber may be produced, at least in a certain frequency range.

  • Patent number: 7447567
Abstract: The present invention provides an electric power system for stably supplying power while suppressing corona discharge generating ultraviolet radiation which may cause health problems in human beings. The corona discharge start voltage varies with the weather. Data on weather forecasts is inputted for each district at certain times so as to calculate the corona discharge estimated start voltage for each transmission line with a computer. If the calculation result predicts start of corona discharge at normal transmission voltage, the transmission voltage of the line is lowered or power transmission through the transmission line is stopped.

  • Patent number: 7442563
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a semiconductor light emitting device can include providing a housing having a cavity and a power feed line, a light emitting element connected to the power feed line on a bottom face of the cavity, and a wavelength conversion layer provided within the cavity and containing a wavelength conversion material. When forming the wavelength conversion layer, a first resin with little or no wavelength conversion material can be filled inside the cavity such that the light emitting element surface is slightly exposed and a surface of the first resin is formed in a bowl shape. Then, a second resin with wavelength conversion material contained therein can be filled inside the cavity over the bowl-shaped first resin. These resins can be heated to be hardened. During heating, the viscosities of the resins are reduced to cause the wavelength conversion material to migrate and deposit around the light emitting element.

  • Patent number: 7428819
Abstract: In a method of operating a compressor of a gas turbine, where compressor air sucked in from the environment is cooled down by evaporation cooling before entering the compressor, before starting operation of the compressor, maximum possible temperature drops which could be achieved by evaporation cooling are determined dependent on different ambient conditions and/or are provided as a data set. These temperature drops are correlated with a compressor map containing maximum temperature distortions at different ambient conditions and different rotation frequencies of the compressor which have to be met in order to avoid pumping. The evaporation cooling is then only operated when current ambient condition result in a maximum possible temperature drop from which a predetermined fraction of between 50% and 100% does not exceed the maximum distortion which can be taken from the compressor map for these ambient conditions and the current rotation frequency of the compressor.
