Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for communicating to multiple functions on a single adapter device over an external communications bus, where the external communications bus is configured so as to allow only a single access point to the external communications bus for each adapter device. Communications on the external communications bus are provided through the single access point to functions of a first type in the adapter device utilizing a function specific communications interface configured for communicating with functions of the first type. Communications on the external communications bus are also provided through the single access point to functions in the adapter device other than functions of the first type utilizing management capabilities of the function specific communications interface so as to provide communications with the functions of the second type without modifying the configuration of the function specific communications interface.

Abstract: A throttle/brake control system has a first member, a second member and a mount for mounting the members for relative movement on either side of a home position, the members being biased relatively to that home position. A variable resistor track having an end is mounted to the first member along with a conductive power track having a gap. A conductive wiper is mounted to the second member opposite the first member, the wiper being arranged to slide along both the resistor track and the power track when the first and second members are moved relatively away from the home position and to repose opposite the gap when the first and second members are in the home position.

Abstract: Apparatus for producing and dispensing an aerated product comprises a mixer which has a first inlet for receiving a fluid, a second inlet for receiving a gas, and an outlet. A relatively long continuous turbulence passage of relatively small cross section has one end positioned to receive the effluent from the mixer outlet and its other end spaced from the mixer outlet so that the effluent is subjected to confined turbulent mixing in the turbulence passage until the fluid product is discharged from the passage other end. If that product is to be cooled, the turbulence passage leads to a cooling area which cools and at least partially freezes the fluid product issuing from that passage. A method of producing the product is also disclosed. The invention has particular application to the making and dispensing of frozen yogurt and ice cream and allows for the service of individualized fresh portions in a variety of flavors and with little required cleaning.
