Abstract: A self-scrambling combination includes a frame that supports at least two tumbler rings and an activating slide. The tumbler rings are marked with characters used for a combination for the lock. The lock is openable only when the tumbler rings are located in an open position related to the combination. The activating slide moves a locking bar between a locked position and an unlocked position. A scrambling mechanism is attached to the activating slide and rotates the tumbler rings from the open position to another position upon movement of the activating slide to move the locking bar from the unlocked position to the locked position. The frame can be used as the door of a lockbox and an attached key lock controls the setting of the combination for the lock. The self-scrambling combination lock can be used for a briefcase or valise lock with an additional spring closing the lock.

Abstract: This invention has the function of injecting gas and/or gas and powders into liquid metals using a refractory lance that is endowed with circular movement around its axis, using low values of pressure and sewage, which provides a better distribution and lower consumption of the powders, resulting in lower cost of the handled metal. The system consists of a refractory lance (7), which is endowed with a rotative junction (6), a motor-reducer (5) and a high-pressure hose (8).
Abstract: A display stand is camouflaged as ordinary furniture, such as a dresser with mirror combination for the bedroom or as an armoire. The stand conceals another object, such as a television display, when one doesn't wish to observe that object, but otherwise exposes the object to view. Supported in a stationary position at least a vertically positionable opaque mirror or panel located directly in front of the television display when the television is not in use prevents the display from being viewed. The mirror or panel is supported by an electric elevator platform or lift inside the furniture, which, at the viewers option, is selectively vertically moved by the lift to a full up position that blocks a view of the stationary object or to a full down position inside the dresser that uncovers the object.
Abstract: A computer screen for a personal computer according to the present invention includes a main screen, one or more retractable sub-displays, and one or more retractable arms. The main screen has a main display and a docking space disposed behind the main display. The retractable sub-displays are adapted to be pushed in into and pulled out from the docking space of the main screen. The retractable arms, disposed in the docking space of the main display, are for holding the retractable sub-displays, for pulling in the retractable sub-displays into the docking space, for pushing out the retractable sub-displays from the docking space. The retractable arms are adapted to be tilted and twisted to accommodate the sight line of the viewers behind the main display.
Abstract: A computer-based method and device for conveying interrelated image and narrative information, suitable for use with a variety of types of information ranging from product information and maintenance procedures to cooking recipes, game commentaries, and travel guides. The first component of the device is an authoring environment used to specify images, narrative text, and interrelationships between elements of each. A second component is a conversion device that prepares the authored materials for viewing. The third component of the device is a delivery or run-time system, capable of being implemented in a standard World-Wide Web browser, which interacts with an end-user to present the information in an integrated fashion, such as by displaying or highlighting relevant portions of the image when the related portion of the narrative text is accessed and vice versa.

Abstract: The invention is a method and system for mobile communications. A mobile communicator communicates with a network routing center. The communicator monitors each of two or more wireless carriers for a service characteristic. The communicator selects, based on the monitored service characteristic, one of the two or more wireless carriers. The mobile communicator can then communicate with the network routing center using the selected wireless carrier.
