  • Patent number: 4226437
Abstract: An improved axle load-distributing device detachably mounted on the rear of a vehicle for transferring a portion of a load from the rear axles of the vehicle to the wheel supported axle of the load-distributing device. The device, which includes a wheel mounted frame assembly and pneumatic units operably connected thereto, is further provided with a tracking unit operably connected to the pneumatic units of the device which partially deactivates the pneumatic units when a predetermined angular relationship between the vehicle and the load-distributing device is detected by the tracking unit.

  • Patent number: 4209787
Abstract: A method for monitoring the location of monitored objects within a monitored area wherein signpost units are positioned at the intersections of first and second coordinate grid lines and each signpost unit transmits a signpost code comprising a first portion corresponding to the first coordinate grid line and a second portion corresponding to the second coordinate grid line. The first coordinate grid lines are assigned numbers sequentially increasing in a first direction and the second coordinate grid lines are assigned numbers sequentially increasing in a second direction. The signpost unit output signals encoded with the signpost codes are received via vehicle units located in the monitored objects and the unique signpost codes are utilized to determine the location of the monitored object relative to one of the signpost units including the direction of the monitored object from the signpost unit.

  • Patent number: 4206903
Abstract: A cam actuable valve wherein annular seats and a valve closure member are axially insertable into a flow passage bore of a valve body. The valve closure member is supported within the flow passage bore by cylindrical trunnions which are partially inserted into the flow passage bore from the exterior of the valve via laterally extending trunnion bores which intersect the flow passage bore and the exterior of the valve body. Cams are formed on the trunnions by forming recesses along chords of the trunnions, the recesses receiving portions of the annular seats when the valve is closed to permit the seats to engage the valve closure member.

  • Patent number: 4087753
Abstract: An improved communication method and apparatus for communicating between a first object and a second object wherein the first object includes apparatus for generating and transmitting a modulation signal having at least a predetermined number "L" pulses within a predetermined time interval and less than a predetermined number "M" pulses within the same predetermined time interval, and wherein the second object includes apparatus for receiving and detecting the modulation signal and providing an output signal in response to detecting at least the predetermined number "L" a pulses and less than the predetermined number "M" pulses. ThisCROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONSthis application is a division of the Applicant's co-pending application entitled "COMMUNICATION APPARATUS FOR COMMUNICATING BETWEEN A FIRST AND A SECOND OBJECT," Ser. No. 462,247, filed Apr. 19, 1974 and now U.S. Pat. No.
